The Management of Bourbon Inter-Oil Nigeria Limited, led by Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Magnus Ibe, joined His Royal Highness, King Daniel B. Ngeribara, to celebrate the birthday of Chief (Eng) Bob Joseph Yousuo, National President of the Nigeria Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff Association (NMNOWTSSA), at Novotel Hotel, Port Harcourt.

The event, held on 15 August 2024 brought together prominent dignitaries, including the Secretary General of NMNOWTSSA, Comrade Alakhua John Okpono, Comrade Francis Bruno, Deputy President General of the Maritime Workers Union, and other esteemed Nigeria Seafarers.

Chief Yousuo, a renowned Chieftain of Nembe Kingdom and International Transport Federation (ITF) Number 1 African Seafarer, was honored for his dedication and contributions to the maritime industry.

Mr. Magnus Ibe, representing Bourbon Inter-Oil Nigeria Limited, praised Chief Yousuo's leadership and commitment to the growth and development of the sector.

The celebration highlighted the strong partnership between Bourbon Inter-Oil Nigeria Limited and NMNOWTSSA, reinforcing their shared commitment to advancing the interests of Nigeria's maritime community.

PHOTO SPEAK: Lagos Central Senator, Sanni Eshilokun empowers constituents with grinding machines, freezers, other items

The Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, Senator Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni (WES) on Wednesday, dazzled his constituents as he doled out grinding machines, deep freezers, generators among other items to alleviate the economic hardship on the people

Distribution of the items took place at Ikate Elegushi community in Lekki area of Lagos..

Items distributed include: 100 pieces of Grinding Machines, 100 pieces of Sewing Machines, 70 pieces of Generators, 50 pieces of Deep Freezers.

Others are: 5 new tricycles, 4,000 pieces of school bags.

The recipients of the items were shortlisted from across the Lagos Central Senatorial District through a selection committee at each of the 13 LGAs and LCDA's.

The beneficiaries include artisans, traders, Community Development Councils, the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council, non-indigenes and pupils of primary and secondary schools within the district.

The empowerment program is one of the numerous ones the senator had done in the year 2024.

PHOTO SPEAK: NRC boss Okhiria, CILT Nigeria president, Barr. Usoro, other dignitaries attend CILT Railway Mode workshop in Lagos

The Railway Mode of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 held its National Workshop on Rail tagged: The Rail Sector As A Panacea For Economic Development at the Vouge Event Centre, Railway Compound, Ebute-Meta, Lagos.

The Managing Director Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) Fidet Okhiria and National President CILT Nigeria, Mrs Mfon Usoro, were some of the dignitaries that graced the event.

Paper Presenters at the workshop include, Dr. James Zang, Director, Corporate Planning NRC, who spoke on the topic:The rail sector as a Panacea for economic development.

Other paper presentations delivered include- Mr. Akin Oshinowo Director, Operation and Commercial NRC with topic - Digitalization of Rail Operations, Engr Jerry Oche, Director Mechanical Electrical Signal and Telecommunication NRC who spoke on the topic Dual Fuel as a Panacea for High Cost of Operating Diesel Locomotive Engines; and Deputy Director -Operations NRC, Mr. Adegoke Omojola who spoke on Nigerian Railway Corporation's Activities.

The workshop also had in attendance members of CILT, WILAT, students from tertiary institutions, civil servants and academics.

PHOTO NEWS. Comrade Bunu leads MWUN chieftains, members to NYSC Orientation camp as PAAF doles out gifts to youth corps members

Comrade Francis Bunu on at weekend, led scores of members of the Maritime Workers' Union of Nigeria and others to the National Youth Service Corps, Lagos orientation camp at Iyana Ipaja for youth development program organised by the Prince Adewale Adeyanju Foundation (PAAF).

Comrade Bunu who represented the CEO of the foundation, Prince Adewale Adeyanju, who is also the President General of the Maritime Workers' Union of Nigeria, told the young men and women that the foundation would continue to promote youth development through sports and other activities.

On behalf of Prince Adeyanju, Comrade Bunu presented cheques and other shifts to the youth corps members

The sporting activity was part of one week-long activities lined up by the NYSC for passing out of those who have completed their one year mandatory service to the nation.

Comrade Bashir Ambi of the Nigeria Shippers' Council honoured by the Council's Cooperative Society merit award.

Bashir Ambi has been honoured with an award by the Coop LASCOFED/Nigerian Shippers' Council, Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited.

Ambi who is the immediate past president of the Cooperative Society was honoured on Monday, at the 28th Annual General Meeting held at the Council's headquarters in Lagos.

Mallam Ambi is an Assistant Director, Compliant of the council bagged the award for exemplary leadership and very high degree of integrity transparency and outstanding performance as president of the society between 2017 to 2021.

The awardee who is also the Chairman, Lagos Branch, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria was reputed for growing the net surplus of the Society from N40 million to ober N200 million during his stay.

National President of the Nigeria Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff ((NMNOWTSSA)), Engr Bob Yousou on Saturday, 27th April 2024 celebrated his convocation alongside other students following successful completion of his Master Degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources Management at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumomi Rivers State 42nd Convocation ceremony.

Comrade Yousou has immediately registered for his PHD program in the same university.

Families ,friends and well wishes were on ground to celebrate with the seasoned marine engineer and number one seafarer in Africa.

Seafarers community hail the seasoned Engineer for his academic zeal and determination for academic excellence.
