Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign, citing what he described as widespread corruption and poor fiscal management following claims that about ₦8.83 trillion spent in 2025 was not captured in the national budget.

Reacting to the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) consultation report, Obi alleged that the expenditure was carried out outside the approved budget, arguing that it was not subjected to legislative oversight or administrative scrutiny. He described the development as a serious threat to transparency, accountability, and Nigeria's economic stability.

According to Obi, the ₦8.83 trillion represents about 2 per cent of Nigeria's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and is more than 35 per cent of the country's ₦23.96 trillion capital expenditure budget for 2025. He also claimed the amount exceeds the combined allocations to the education and health sectors, arguing that it could have significantly improved infrastructure, healthcare, education, and job creation if properly utilised.

The former Anambra State governor alleged that the reported spending reflects a pattern of grand corruption and disregard for due process under the current administration. He accused the government of failing to address worsening poverty and economic hardship despite its campaign promises.

Obi concluded by renewing his call for President Tinubu to resign over what he described as incompetence, lack of accountability, and failure to improve the welfare of Nigerians. He also urged citizens to lawfully demand greater transparency and accountability from the government.

🇧🇫 🇫🇷 Just In: Reportedly, Fr4nce has ordered Burkina Faso to close its embassy in Paris. The Burkinabè diplomats are given 7 days to leave Fr4nce.

I see many Ivorians online celebrating and praising Fr4nce for the move. They said Fr4nce is giving a lesson to Captain IB 🙂. They don't know that this move is very normal and was expected after Burkina Faso has severed the diplomatic relations with Fr4nce.

The last Fr£nch diplomats have left Ouagadougou early morning at 4am local time. More than 10 of the Fr£nch embassy armored vehicles were seen being evacuated en route towards Ghana under the supervision of Burkina security authorities.

According to Burkina Army (in an official statement), the massive att@cks in the East and North of Burkina Faso in the last few days were part of the retaliation that Fr4nce said it was preparing against Burkina for cutting the diplomats relations.

Closing Burkina embassy and expelling the diplomats in Paris is another part of the retaliation. We'll be waiting for more parts in the near future which will certainly be more t£rr0r¡st att@cks! But Burkina will be ready. An army that's been at war for over 10 years, fears nothing!

🚨 Katsina Deploys 361 Tricycle Ambulances to Boost Rural Healthcare

The Katsina State Government has unveiled 361 specially assembled tricycle ambulances, popularly known as “Keke” ambulances.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda inspected the fleet of tricycle ambulances on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, ahead of their deployment to Primary Healthcare Centres across each of the state’s 361 political wards.

The initiative is designed to improve the transportation of patients, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach communities where access to conventional ambulances is often limited.
