A section of university professors in Nigeria is calling for their salaries to be increased to at least ₦2.5 million per month, arguing that anything below that is no longer sustainable.

Nigeria Immigration Service Announces Upward Review Of Standard Passport Fees

The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced an upward review of fees for Nigerian Standard Passports, effective 1st September, 2025.

In a statement by the Service' Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, the review applies only to applications made in Nigeria.

The new rates are ₦100,000 for the 32-page passport with 5-year validity and ₦200,000 for the 64-page passport with 10-year validity.

The statement added that applications by Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged at $150 for the 32-page with 5-year validity and $230 for the 64-page with 10-year validity.

While assisting victims, she came across a four-month-old baby boy who had gone without food for an extended time and was crying from hunger. Realizing the child’s mother was unable to breastfeed, Dionisio, who had recently given birth herself and was still able to nurse, offered to breastfeed the infant.
