The Central Bank of Nigeria has threatened to investigate, arrest, and prosecute anyone spreading false information about the new naira policy.This threat was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Central Bank of Nigeria's Deputy Governor, Corporate Services, Edward Adamu, and Director, Corporate Communications, Osita Nwanisobi.In response to a purported press release shared on the First Lady's Instagram page, Aisha Buhari, that said the old N500 and N1000 notes would remain legal tender for the next 70 days, until May 1, 2023, the CBN vowed to track down the source of the release....

Lufthansa is set to cancel more than 30,000 flights from its original summer 2023 schedule, according to reports in Germany.The airline is planning to reduce its schedule by some 34,000 flights this summer, according to German business newspaper WirtschaftsWoche, due to continuing staff shortages in the aviation industry.A Lufthansa spokesperson did not confirm the number of cancellations but said the airline was “adjusting its flight schedule for summer”....

Contrary to a recent comment by the Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Mr. Festus Keyamo in which he had faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive that the old N200 be recirculated until April 10, 2023, while the old N500 and N1,000 cease to be legal tender, the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), at the weekend argued that the directive of the president was not a direct affront to Supreme Court that had temporarily halted the move to ban the old currencies by February 10, 2023....
