TOTAL LOCKDOWN IN BIAFRA LAND ON SATURDAY, 30TH MAY 2026 – BIAFRA FALLEN HEROES AND HEROINES REMEMBRANCE DAY
In honour and solemn remembrance of our gallant Fallen Heroes and Heroines who paid the supreme price with their lives for the restoration of the Sovereign State of Biafra, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the distinguished leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu hereby declares a TOTAL LOCKDOWN across the entire Biafra Land on Saturday, 30th May 2026.
This sacred day is set aside to remember the millions of our brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers and children who were massacred during the Biafran Genocide and the subsequent decades of continued marginalization, oppression and dehumanization by the Nigerian state. Their blood continues to cry out for justice and freedom.
Therefore, the following directives take effect:
1. There shall be NO MOVEMENT of any kind across Biafra Land from 12:00 midnight on Friday, 29th May 2026 to 12:00 midnight on Saturday, 30th May 2026.
2. All markets, shops, banks, offices, schools, motor parks, airports, and business premises within Biafra territory must remain completely closed.
3. Public and private transportation (keke, okada, buses, cars, tricycles, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
4. All forms of commercial activities, farming, and social gatherings are suspended for the 24-hour period.
5. Only essential medical emergencies shall be allowed, and such movements must be coordinated.
This total lockdown is not optional. It is a collective duty and a mark of respect to our fallen heroes and heroines. Every Biafran at home and abroad is expected to comply fully and ensure that their families, neighbours and communities observe this day in dignity and discipline.
We call on all Biafran youths, elders, traditional rulers, town unions, market women, traders associations, religious leaders, transport companies and students to join hands in making this directive peacefully and orderly.
Biafra is our collective destiny. We shall never forget our heroes. We shall never abandon the struggle.
