Theme: Baby Mickey in the Clouds ☁️🐭
Mood: Soft, dreamy, and magical — perfect for a boy’s first birthday 💙
Cake Size: Two tiers (10" & 7")
Colors: Sky blue, white, and touches of silver

This was the cake I delivered last week Sunday 💛

This order was extra special because it came from a returning customer. I was privileged to make her wedding cake last year, and this time she called me again..for her son’s first birthday cake! 🥰

She showed me a sample but said she wanted something more beautiful… and boom we created this dreamy piece! She absolutely loved it, and that’s what matters most. 🎂

But behind the scenes? Omo! I saw shege promax! 😩😂
I was even recording content at first, but as soon as my fondant started breaking abi melting after i had decorated the big one (the rain was heavy that day 😭), I just flung my phone and tripod aside! The blanket method i first covered it with failed. I had to remove everything and start afresh using the panelling method. It wasn’t easy, but it was so worth it in the end. 🙌

May God bless every baker out there! Funny enough, we don’t often get recognized at events, and people don’t always see the stress we go through..the fixing, patching, mood swings, and late nights 😅. Behind every beautiful cake is a beautiful story. We truly put our hearts (and strength!) into every masterpiece we create. ❤️🎂

I’ve made different buns lately and I’ve come to realize something interesting.

When you don’t add eggs, your buns come out rougher, crackier, and more “authentic,” giving that true Nigerian street buns vibe.

But once you add eggs, it becomes softer..still cracky but smoother. It definitely enriches the dough and makes it fluffier too.

Now let’s talk about yeast versus baking powder.

Yeast makes it rise faster but gives a softer texture if not eaten immediately after frying.., while baking powder brings that dense, rocky feel that I personally love.

It actually reminds me of my secondary school days when we used to buy those hard, crunchy buns that stayed hot for hours.

Now I’m curious...
What’s your own experience when making Nigerian buns?

Do you prefer yours with or without eggs?
Yeast or baking powder?

For me, I prefer baking powder and no eggs..based on my experiments so far. And I love using enough milk, though for commercial purposes you might want to reduce it a bit or use milk flavors

My 3-year-old Boss Baby requested spaghetti, so I quickly made this sharp sharp spaghetti for them to take school this morning..

I used Just a few ingredients..with chunks of stir-fry chicken hotdog sausage

He said, “Mummy, don’t finish the one in the pot o! When I come back, I’ll ask for more..10 times!” 😂

If self-control was a person, it’s definitely me tonight, maka na I don’t know how I’ll cook this delicious soup and not download it with fufu, eba, or oat swallow.

Just finished cooking this mouthwatering Afang soup now!

But after remembering everything I’ve read about eating late, I quietly packed the soup and walked away..maintaining my steeze.

Meanwhile, the soup has been eyeing me somehow o!

Make una pray for me bikonu, so I don’t wake up at midnight to “check something” in the kitchen.

Who can relate?

Today’s breakfast came early..even the kids couldn’t believe it!

That’s how much I love my beans, plantain, and potatoes combo. I roasted the plantain and potatoes, and the taste was simply heavenly! 😋

Making yogurt at home isn’t as easy as those social media videos make it look This is my second attempt the first one was with a yogurt starter, and this time I used culture from an already made yogurt.

I left it for about 12 hours, checked it, and it was still runny so I put it back in the oven. After another 3 hours, it thickened a bit — not too thick though.

Now I’m wondering, what exactly am I not getting right? The temperature? The milk type? Or maybe the culture itself?

Let's learn no one knows it all..

Anyway, my kids didn’t care They finished everything and were even asking for more. So at least my money didn’t waste 😅

I will try again!

My lecturer thinks I’m listening, not knowing I’m busy thinking about what to cook for dinner .and the cake, chin chin, and chops orders I’ve already collected money for 😭

Schooling as a full-grown adult or parent is not easy oo 😩

I had my presentation on this very day, and she commended me — not knowing how much effort it took to compile a whole 22-pages the sleepless night, drafting,editing name it and how many times the kids came to report each other while i was trying to read it😭
