This might sound small, but it’s not…

The first thing you do after waking up
can decide how your whole day goes.

I’ve noticed that on days I start with my phone,
everything else feels harder.

I’m trying to change that—one morning at a time.

How often do you find yourself reaching for your phone before saying a short prayer?

I did the same thing this morning without even thinking, and it threw off my focus.

Tomorrow, I'm going to make a point to pray before checking my phone, even if it's just for a few minutes.

THE QUESTION "WHY"

If you can know the "why" behind decisions you take I don't think there'll be much confusion.

You want to start something, first ask yourself "why am I doing this?"

There's so much conviction that comes when you do things with reasons

So when there's no more motivation all you'll have to fall back on is the purpose behind what you do.

if you started something because people said you're good at it , when the noise fades will you continue?

Don't go through life without even knowing why you exist
Don't do things without knowing why it should be done.

So let me ask you
Why do you do what you do?

Perfection cannot always be achieved but consistency can be achieved.

You have a list of things you want to do in a day;
1. Pray for an hour
2. Read your bible for an hour
3. Read two chapters of a book

Sister/Brother calm down, you'll burn out

Like I said before consistency is achievable

Wisdom requires you consistently do little things and grow with time

For this plan to be achievable, what should I do?

Choose a particular time you know you'll be free; prayer for 20 minutes, then set a reading target for your bible at least 3 chapters a day, then for the book 1 chapter a day.

That way your brain starts taking note of these activities and masters it with time

I've noticed a very disturbing pattern and I'd love to address it.

Most times it's not as if we're not motivated to do better or achieve greater things but there's something lacking.

It is FOCUS

Let me speak for myself

At the beginning of this year, I wrote two core skills I was going to learn and practice effectively

But tell me why it looks like there are now different skills which are more important than what I wanted to do

At this point I'm just stock

But it's very okay to pause then ask myself a very important question.

Why do I want to learn this particular skill?

I believe if you can answer the question "why?" it'll save you from alot of confusion.

Why are you doing what you're doing now

Facebook asked me the highlight of my day

The usual struggle to do things at the right time.

Although I've set up to 5 alarms on my phone for specific tasks of the day but I still do not meet up with them.

Today I wasn't able to read anything but I get to pay for the lost time tomorrow by reading double of everything

if not I won't eat till it's done.

it's not punishment, it's paying back for lost time

The days I get to finish my plans I get so excited only to fumble the next day.

This is really something else

Who's in this with me?

Forming Morning Habits is one of the hardest things to do

Just look at me now
I've written down a lot of things I want to do early in the morning when I wake up

But there's this thing called early morning sleep.

So when I finally get up I don't get to do everything I planned on doing

What should I do?

Who's in this with me?

If you're in this "consistency" journey with me read this

Growth is an essential part of every human life .

You can't expect more and remain on the same level.

There's always a room for more.

Let's say you've consistently learnt how to read one chapter of a book per day or you've mastered 10 mins of prayer or deep study.

Growth requires you step up:

You increase to two chapters per day or 20 minutes of prayer and deep study.

Consistency births Growth
So ask yourself today

Am I growing?

I actually wanted to read my Bible this morning…
but I picked up my phone first and that was it.
One minute turned into scrolling and I didn’t go back again.

I’m starting to notice that once my phone comes first, everything else just follows.

So tomorrow I’ve set an alarm to remind me to read before touching my phone.
Even if it’s just for a few minutes.

Let’s see if it works.
