Attention! Attention!! Attention!!!
That day is fast approaching.
A day of fitnah.
A day when people will be dressed in bloody clothes.
A day of Zinah (Fornication).
A day, which some Muslims are expecting to come soon.
A day that many people will regret for the rest of their lives.
A day, that will mark the genesis of sorrow in the life of some people.
A day, when many prides will be lost.
A day, that some Muslims are already shopping for the clothes that will suit that day.
A day that has no basis in Islam.
A day that will later brings shame to people.
A day that will makes the wrongdoers feel on top of the World.
A day that was said to boost the rate of CONDOMS consumption.
A day, they said it signify LOVE.
A day that put smile on the face of HOTEL MANAGERS.
A day that enrich the pocket of CLUB OWNERS.

DO YOU KNOW THAT DAY?
They call it VALENTINE'S DAY

Dear Muslim Brothers and Sisters, Don't celebrate a day that add nothing to your IMAAN.
Boldly say 'NO' to VALENTINE'S DAY. If you have no one expect ALLAH.

DONT WAIT TILL YOUR FRIEND BEGS YOU FOR MONEY

"He didn't dress well to the alumni/school reunion, nobody cared to ask him WHY....

He couldn't pay the annual dues, nobody cares to know WHY...

He keeps saying he lacks airtime to call, hence he could've checked on friends, but nobody cares to ask about his welfare & financial situation that makes him slack so much...

Everybody kept minding their business until the news broke out that their former brilliant classmate suddenly slumped & died of hypertension due to depression...

Mates contributed 10million for a befitting burial of a fellow who didn't live a befitting life.... couldn't they have spent that much to lift him out of depression that eventually sent him 6 feet below?

Please don't say after all he/she didn't ask me, some people were not raised that way. they're just too shy to beg, not pride but the way they were brought up and the fact that everyone else is going through one issue or the other ...

Don't wait till your friend begs you for money, send the little you can afford into his/her account....

That credit alert will be a very big relief to the receiver & you never can tell the danger you've innocently averted from your friend by the little gesture you extended to him unexpectedly..."

A lot of people are going through hard times, give foodstuff, give money, help them connect with people who can change their story for good.

A lot of your classmates do not have jobs, please if you can connect them to people who can help them with job opportunities or even if you can give them jobs, please do so. There is no harm in reaching out to people.

A lot of your childhood friends and classmates are dying in silence due to economic hardship, some as a result of sickness, please reach out to them, your little assistance can go a long way

Check your community for people who need that bowl of garri/rice, reach out to the poor and less privileged around you - you may be surprised that looking good is no longer a yardstick for recognizing those in need of help.

One can still look good and still be poor - they are just recycling the good clothes and even make-up they had already bought some years ago or they are simply blessed with good looks.

Poverty is really eating deep into the fabric of our co-existence, please whatever good position providence has bequeathed you, please it's not because of you alone but for the people around you.

*Do not hesitate to be a blessing to someone around you today*.
Put a smile on someone's face today.

That a person is all smiles doesn't mean they do not have challenges!

I PITIED MY OLD classmate.

I met an old class mate, we had not seen each other for about 30 years.

When I saw him again, this time at a hotel lobby, he was looking simple. He wore simple clothes. I felt touched.

He walked up to me and was glad to see me again. But deep within me I was not impressed with his status compared to mine and poor me, I couldn't hide it.

We exchanged contact details and I could see the joy in him as he collected mine.

I told him I would drop him home in my brand new Range Rover and I pointed it to him. He declined and said he had already called for his car. It looked old, a 2001 Honda Accord.

I invited him the next day for lunch at my house. A part of me wanted to impress him, to show off my success and affluence to him; while another was to discuss opportunities and possibly help him.

He drove to Parkview where I lived. He looked impressed with my home. I had taken a heavy mortgage. In fact, I was heavily in debt. We had lunch. He told me he was into small business and particularly real Estate. I brought up more business discussions, but he didn't sound too interested. I asked him how I could help him. He said he was fine. I even told him if he was interested, I could help him secure some loans. He looked at me and smiled.

He told me he would invite me over soon to his place. His old car came for him. I was grateful to God for what I had.β€œFingers are not all equal" I thought to myself. I was lucky. I worked in a good place.

Two weeks later, my wife and I went to see him in a remote area. Initially, my wife was reluctant to go because she was not impressed with the man's status as to warrant our visiting him in his house.

I was able to convince her that we were close friends in College.

We saw the Estate. We asked for directions to his home. Those leading us spoke his name with deference.

It was a simple but lovely home. A 4-bedroom bungalow. I saw 4 cars parked in front. We entered his home. It was simply elegant with a touch of class inside. He welcomed us warmly.

Lunch was well served.
His wife called him Papa Onos.

During lunch, he asked about my MD. He said they were friends. I saw a company gift on one of his tables nearby. That company owned about 38% shares where I worked. I enquired from him about it. He smiled. He told me he owned the company. He also owned the Estate.

I did not know when I called him sir. I was in awe of him too.

I had learnt a lesson in humility, A big one. Appearances are deceptive. He noticed my discomfort.

Driving back home, I was very quiet. My wife was humbled and extremely calm. I could perceive the thoughts in her mind. I looked at myself. Living on loans, heavy loans and showing off while someone who pays my salary is quite modest and living a simple life.
