You never really outgrow the joy of being recognized by someone you quietly admire.
At Bimbo Oloyede’s book launch in Lagos, I found myself sitting next to the formidable Dr. Oby Ezekwesili. I’ve respected her fearless mind and courage for decades from a safe distance, assuming I was just another face in the crowd to her.
Turns out, “Madam Due Process” had done her research on me, too.
She turned around, greeted me warmly, and dropped some very generous words about my work that honestly made my day. Not a bad reminder that even after all these years behind the camera, a little validation from a powerhouse still makes your day.
A brilliant afternoon, made even better by great company.
