Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi has challenged supporters and critics of Governor Seyi Makinde to move beyond political arguments and let the facts speak.

FLASHBACK: OGOGO’S EMOTIONAL WORDS ON ILLNESS, LIFE AND VANITY

Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, once opened up about a difficult health experience that left him reflecting deeply on life.

“I don’t smoke or drink. I felt a sharp pain in my chest and was told by a doctor my use of Alabukun and lime to treat malaria had made it chronic. I vomited blood for seven days.”

He further revealed how the experience changed his perspective on material possessions, saying he even threw away his golden tooth from Mecca, after coming to the realisation that “everything is vanity.”

His words remain a powerful reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of taking our health seriously.

Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, will be bur!ed in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday, August 24, 2026, following his de@th at the age of 66.

According to a burial announcement by veteran actor Jide Kosoko, Hassan’s remains will be taken to Ilaro on Sunday, with a laying-in-state ceremony scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at the Pavillon, Ilaro.

The Ilaro Muslim Community also announced that the burial prayer will take place at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground at 10 a.m.

Hassan died at about 3 p.m. on Sunday after battling stage-four cancer. His daughters, Kaira and Lima Taiwo, had appealed for medical assistance days before his de@th, revealing that doctors could no longer administer chemotherapy due to his condition.

The veteran actor was a prominent figure in the Yoruba-language film industry and was widely known for his contributions to Nollywood.

OYO 2027: OYO MANDATE CIRCLE ENDORSES ORIYOMI HAMZAT FOR GOVERNOR

The political temperature in Oyo State is rising as the Oyo Mandate Circle (OMC) has thrown its weight behind Dr. Oriyomi Hamzat ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

At a strategic meeting held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, OMC leaders and representatives from across the state formally endorsed Hamzat, citing their confidence in his ability to represent the interests of the people.

Hamzat, in his response, commended the group for its commitment and grassroots mobilisation efforts. He also announced that OMC members would be integrated into his campaign structure and participate actively in campaign activities across the state.

The meeting ended with the presentation of OMC-branded vests and caps to Hamzat.
