2023: APC DENIES ZONING PRESIDENCY TO NORTHEAST.

APC has reacted to the report claiming the ruling party zoned its 2023 presidential ticket to the northeast.

The national publicity secretary of the APC, Barr. Felix Morka, said the National Working Committee (NWC) has not taken such a decision.

Morka also reacted to the allegation the ex-President Jonathan has submitted the APC presidential form bought for him.

Oyo state Government to name Ogbomoso-Iseyin Road after Alao-Akala

Governor of Oyo state Seyi Makinde has declared that the Ogbomoso-Iseyin road when completed would be named after a former governor of the State Abebayo Alao-Akala.

Governor Makinde made this known while flagging-off the 76.67km Ogbomoso-Iseyin road.

This is coming four months after the death of the foremost politician who was was supposed to join Governor Seyi Makinde in flagging off the road.

Governor Makinde while speaking at the event stated that the road when finally completed would facilitate Economic growth between Kwara and Oyo states.

According to him, many people may not know, but Oyo State shares a border with Kwara State here at Ogbomoso and so, this road is of vital economic importance to both states.

He added that when it comes to the facilitation of trade between the two states and the movement of agricultural produce, the State and other investors will be able to go from Iseyin all the way to Kwara through this route.

In his remarks, the Kwara state governor, AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman lauded his Oyo state counterpart for having the interest of his people at heart.

He said the road project when finally completed would enhance a symbiotic relationship between both states as commercial activities between them would be improved.

The Ogbomosho-Iseyin road links Ogbomosho to the Oke Ogun region of Oyo State and will connect two very important parts of the State while also serving as a Shortcut for Travellers from Kwara State thereby enhancing Economic activities between the two States.

Their has been an historical relationship between Kwara State and the Ogbomosho and Oke-Ogun region of Oyo State and the road is expected to enahance this relationship further.
The road will be named after a former retired Senior Police Officer and former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Adebayo

Court denies Nnamdi Kanu bail

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has refused to admit the leader of the Indigenous People's of Biafran, Nnamdi Kanu to bail.

The Judge held that Mr Kanu must account for his whereabouts over the years when he was first granted bail but refused to attend his trial.

The court disagreed with the defendant that he escaped out of the country when Nigerian armed soldiers allegedly invaded his ancestral home in Abia State.

On the amended charges, Justice Binta Nyako, held that the prosecution can not at every opportunity decide to amend the charges of the defendant

Although provisions of ACJA allows for amendment of charge at any point of the trial , there must be a stop to it.

This amendment will be the sixth amendment made by the prosecution.

EFCC Arrests Former Speaker, Olubunmi Etteh, over Solar Power Project

A Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Patricia Etteh, has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Mrs Etteh is accused of fraudulently handling the N130m solar street light project in Akwa Ibom state.

Details are still sketchy on the issue but She was speaker of the House of Representatives for five months, between June and October, 2007.

Her removal from office bodered on allegation of spending N628m on the renovation of her official residence and that of her deputy.

Mrs Etteh was also accused of purchasing 12 official cars.

These allegation have been disputed by many who say she was removed simply for cultural conflicts.

She is originally from Osun State but her husband is from Akwa Ibom State.

Terrorists Attack Kaduna-Abuja Highway, many feared killed, abducted

In Kaduna state, many travelers are feared kidnapped after suspected terrorists reportedly attacked the Abuja-Kaduna highway along Kateri general area on Tuesday.

Some commuters are also feared dead as the the terrorists reportedly shot sporadically during the attack which took place at about 4:30 PM.https://www.tvcnews.tv/purplegold/post-new.php #

Although the Kaduna state government and police authorities are are yet to acknowledge the incident, videos posted by witnesses show that some victims sustained gunshot wounds including children.

The incident comes barely fifty days after terrorists ambushed a Kaduna bound train on the 28th of March, killing at least eight persons and kidnapping several others according to government authorities.https://www.tvcnews.tv/purplegold/post-new.php #

It also comes less than 48 hours after the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) announced that train services will resume on the 23 of May.

For now it is still unclear how many victims of the train attack are held hostage but in a recent video released by the terrorists, at least 62 persons led those who can afford it to take a short flight to Kaduna from Abuja or take the Abuja-Kaduna Passenger Train Service which had provided succour to people who travel to and from Kaduna to the nations' capital.

The safety record of the Abuja-Kaduna Passenger Train Service came under repeated threat from Bandits/Terrorists before it was eventually breached in March this year.

The attack led to the death of 10 people while several Others were abducted.

Many of the over a hundred abductees in the attack are yet to regain freedom.

The Train service is however expected to resume on the 21st of May while many of the abductees are still in captivity, a development members of their families have kicked against.

On Tuesday May 17, news broke that a Nigerian mum competed in JAMB-UTME with her son and the boy scored 243 while she scored 230.

Well, the mum has come out to give more insights as she said the 17-year-old boy also worked and earned salary before the exams.

She said: "He worked for three months as a shop cashier last year. The job is still part of the training process. Dignity in labour."

EFCC Arrests Ahmed Idris, Accountant General of the Federation for N80billion Fraud

Reports filling in confirms that the Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, May 16, 2022 arrested serving Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris in connection with diversion of funds and money laundering activities to the tune of N80billion (Eighty Billion Naira) .

Sources in the commission confirmed that the Commission’s verified intelligence showed that the AGF raked off the funds through bogus consultancies and other illegal activities using proxies, family members and close associates.

The funds were allegedly laundered through real estate investments in Kano and Abuja.

Reports have it also that Mr. Idris was arrested after failing to honour invitations by the EFCC to respond to issues connected to the fraudulent acts.
