Sexuality and the Bible
The aim of this topic is to empower our youth with the knowledge and skills to navigate their bodies, emotions, and relationships safely and confidently.
Because young people often feel more comfortable talking to friends than to adults, Peer educators play a vital role in clearing up misconceptions and providing accurate, non-judgmental information.
What is Sexuality?
Sexuality is a central part of being human. It isnโt just about s*x; it includes:
* Sexual Orientation & Attraction: Who we are drawn to physically and emotionally.
* Gender Identity: Our internal sense of being male, female, non-binary, or another identity.
* Body Image & Sensuality: Understanding our anatomy and feeling confident in our physical development.
* Feelings & Values: The thoughts, fantasies, and personal beliefs that shape how we express ourselves.
According to the bible, we are made to understand that our bodies and desires are not accidental; they are part of a divine design intended for our flourishing.
Your Identity in Christ
*Created in His Image: Sexuality is central to being an image-bearer. Genesis 1:27 states, So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
* Sexuality as a Divine Gift
