It is true that in the African โ€” or should I say Nigerian โ€” culture, marriage is not just a union between two people but a merging of different backgrounds, families, religious beliefs, and values. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’

However, thereโ€™s also a biblical truth that says, โ€œA man shall leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife, and the two shall become one.โ€ ๐Ÿ™

As a couple-to-be or a married couple, itโ€™s important to choose your truth. While we honour family involvement, we must also define our privacy and clearly communicate our boundaries โ€” and this must be done with Godโ€™s wisdom. ๐Ÿ’กโค๏ธ
