🔴 RH: “What is your salary expectation?”

Candidate: “Between 400,000 and 450,000 FCFA per month.”

RH: “You're the best candidate for the job, but we can only offer 350,000 FCFA.”

Candidate: “Okay, FCFA 350,000 is fine with me.”

HR: “When can you start?”

A few days later, the candidate starts. Talking to his colleagues, he learns that the initial budget for this position was 700,000 FCFA. HR, all proud, thinks he's done the company a good turn by lowering the salary and showing management he's “optimized” costs.

The new employee feels undervalued and betrayed. The result? Dissatisfaction, lack of commitment, loss of confidence.

Two months later, the employee leaves for a better-paid position elsewhere. Then it's back to recruiting, with costs and delays for the company.
