"Women like you don't raise kids."

I heard that more times than I can count - usually from people who only saw the leather jacket, the grease on my hands, and the life I used to ride hard and fast.

But God had already placed children in my path... before I even knew I was looking.

I couldn't have kids of my own. That ache never left - it just learned how to stay quiet.

Then one day, during a charity ride stop at a foster home, I saw them.

Josiah. Lila. And Noah.

They sat apart from everyone else - like a small island in a crowded room.

Josiah stayed close to Lila, always watching, always guarding.

Lila talked nonstop, like if she kept the silence away, no one would leave her again. Noah sat by the window... staring outside...

They weren't related by blood.

But they moved like family. Like survival had tied them together.
