Monday again? Already?
I blinked twice and the weekend vanished.
But here we are to-do list staring us down like it owns the place.
Let’s show up anyway.

Reminder: You don’t have to do all the things — just the right things.

MONTHLY REFLECTION ✨ | Growth Looks Good On You (And Me Too!)

July flew by, but whew—what a ride it has been!

This month, I made a promise to myself: no more hiding behind “this tool looks hard” or “I’ll learn it later.”
So I rolled up my sleeves, opened up those scary-looking apps, and got to work.

From juggling new project management platforms to diving deep into tools I once thought were built for wizards (yes, you Airtable and Notion), I’ve shocked myself with how much I’ve grown.
There were days my brain felt like mashed yam from all the tutorials 😅 but now? I navigate these tools like second nature.

I’ve even invested in my growth. (My wallet may have side-eyed me, but my future self says thank you.)

And guess what? I’ve come out stronger, smarter, and more productive.
That’s the thing about this tech journey it’s not about perfection, it’s about progression.

Here’s your reminder:
Whether you’re just starting out or already knee-deep in this digital space, never stop upskilling. Tech evolves fast, and so should we.

There’s always something new to learn and always a way to level up without losing yourself.

👋🏽 Hi, I’m Ingrid, your Executive Virtual Assistant.
I help founders and busy professionals stay organized, handle the tech they’d rather not touch, and free up time for what really matters.

Looking for someone who learns fast, adapts faster, and keeps the vibe professional yet human?

Hey!! its Monday

5 Freelance Websites I Recommend for Beginners”
(Spoiler: These sites helped me go from “Can I really do this?” to “Yes, I just sent an invoice ")

When I first decided to start freelancing, I did what most people do:
I Googled “How to get freelance jobs with no experience.”

And BOOM—20 tabs opened
😅 “Wait… people are making money online just by offering services they’re already good at?”

So I took the leap.

Here are 5 websites that helped me start (and actually get clients)—with a sprinkle of trial, error, and a lot of refreshing inboxes 👇

1. Upwork
The first platform I tried. And let me tell you, it felt like walking into a party where everyone already knew someone. But I stayed. I started small. Took on a tiny job. Nailed it. Got a review. And the rest is digital history.

Pro tip: Your first 1-2 clients matter more than perfection.

2. Fiverr
I created “gigs” that showcased exactly what I could do. Wrote it like I was explaining it to my best friend.
And guess what? Clients actually found me. Magic.

Pro tip: Make your gig titles clear + spicy = more clicks.

3. Freelancer.com
A bidding platform. Think eBay, but for skills. I was nervous at first, but persistence won. I learned to pitch smart—not spammy.

Pro tip: Don’t just say “I can do this.” Say how you’ll do it better.

4. PeoplePerHour
This one felt like a hidden gem—especially great for writers, designers, and anyone with a creative edge.

Pro tip: Upload a clean portfolio. First impressions matter.

5. Toptal (for later)
Let’s just say, if Upwork and Fiverr are the high school of freelancing, Toptal is Harvard. Apply when you’ve got confidence + results to show.

Pro tip: Don’t rush. Toptal is for when you're ready to flex hard.

What I learned?
Pick one platform. Show up daily. Learn the ropes. Get feedback. Repeat.

I’ve walked this path—and now I get to support amazing clients around the world with virtual tasks, tech help, sales support, and admin magic ✨

If you’re starting out and need guidance—or if you need a reliable VA to support your team—slide into my DMs. I’m literally one message away.

You know that feeling when it’s Saturday, no alarms, no “Just checking in” emails, and no one’s asking for a Zoom link?
Yes — that’s the energy I’m on today. 🧘🏽‍♀️

This weekend, I’m not chasing deadlines.
I’m chasing peace, jollof rice, and the perfect nap position. 😴🍲

Freelancing can be hectic, remote life can be noisy —
But weekends like this?
They remind me why I chose this path.

To be able to pause.
To breathe.
To rest without guilt.

So if you’re looking for me,
I’m somewhere between soft work and soft life — in my wrapper, watching reels I promised myself I’d post instead 😂

💬 What’s your weekend vibe today?
🛋 Couch mode?
💃🏽 Outside plans?
📞 Or pretending you didn’t see that client message?

I Don’t Have It All Figured Out — But I’m Still Showing Up

Some days, I feel like I’m nailing this remote work thing.
Other days, I’m just a tired mom with 7 tabs open and no idea what I’m even doing 😅

But you know what? I still show up.
Even when I don’t feel “ready.”
Even when my background is noisy.
Even when I question if I’m doing enough.

That’s the thing no one tells you about freelancing and remote life

It’s not always picture-perfect.
Sometimes, it’s messy.
Sometimes, it’s magical.
Most times, it’s both.

So here’s to the women juggling motherhood, side hustles, client work, and self-doubt
You’re doing better than you think.
And if no one has told you today: I’m proud of you 💛

I Once Took a Zoom Call in the Kitchen... With a Garri Stick Behind Me 😩🍲

Let me tell you what they don’t show you in those “Pinterest-worthy remote work setups.”

One Monday morning, I had a discovery call with a new client.
Big deal. Important client.
I dressed up — at least from the waist up.
Nice shirt, earrings, even a little gloss. Feeling like a tech baddie.

But the kids were the kids were loud. So I ran to the kitchen for “peace and quiet.”

Midway through the call, the client goes:

> “Nice background. Is that… a wooden stick behind you?”
Yes. Yes, it was.
My Garri turning stick. 🙃

That day, I learned two things:

1. Your environment may not be perfect, but your value still speaks.

2. Authenticity wins. The client laughed, I laughed, and I still got the job.

So this is your Monday reminder:

✅ You don’t need a MacBook.
✅ You don’t need an accent.
✅ You don’t need a fancy background.

Just start where you are — Garri stick and all 😂

What’s the most embarrassing-but-funny thing that has happened to you while working or doing something new?

Let’s laugh and learn together 🤭

Welcome to My Remote Life Diary 👩‍💻💬

Hi, I’m Ingrid Kingsly — a Nigerian mom, wife, techie, freelancer, and your everyday woman chasing purpose and peace from home. 💛

A few years ago, fresh out of school, I walked straight into the 9-to-5 world. I tried, I pushed, and I gave it my best. But there was always this voice in me saying, “There has to be more.”

So I tried business. I sold, I marketed, I posted. Yet something still felt missing. I was doing everything except what truly made me feel alive, fulfilled, and free.

Then one day, I stumbled on a Digital course online i enrolled and that single decision changed my life.

I started learning about tech, freelancing, and remote work. I was clueless at first, but I kept going. I signed up on freelancer.com, got my very first gig, and I haven’t looked back since.

Since then, I’ve worked with clients from different parts of the world, right from the comfort of my home in Nigeria. I’m working, earning, supporting my family, raising my kids, and still finding time for me — something I never thought was possible.

It hasn’t always been easy. There are long nights, unpredictable NEPA moments, and plenty of doubts. But guess what? It’s been worth every single step. ✨

This page is my digital diary — where I’ll be sharing:
