Tonto Dikeh Feeds 2,000 People, Donates Wheelchairs and Scholarships in Honor of Pastor Jerry Eze

Nollywood actress and philanthropist, Tonto Dikeh, marked the birthday of her spiritual father, Pastor Jerry Eze, with a large-scale outreach program that touched hundreds of lives.

In her tribute, she explained that the outreach was organized to celebrate and honor the impact of the Streams of Joy International founder, whose ministry has influenced lives globally.

As part of the initiative, wheelchairs were donated to members of a disabled colony, 50 educational scholarships were awarded to children from underprivileged backgrounds, and meals were provided for more than 2,000 people.

The gesture, she noted, was a reflection of Pastor Jerry’s compassion and kingdom-focused leadership, which has inspired her and many others to give back to society.

In his farewell speech as Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop remarked, “We didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost.” These words became symbolic of how even the strongest companies can collapse if they fail to adapt.

Nokia, once the undisputed leader in mobile phones, enjoyed global dominance with its durable devices and unmatched trust. But the rise of smartphones shifted consumer preferences. The transition from keypads to touchscreens was underestimated, and instead of adopting Android, Nokia aligned with Microsoft’s Windows Phone. Unfortunately, the platform lacked widespread appeal, leaving Nokia unable to compete with Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android.

Another major weakness was its slow pace of innovation. While Apple and Samsung delivered sleek designs, powerful features, and thriving app ecosystems, Nokia continued focusing on durability and basic phone functions. This created a gap between evolving consumer demands and Nokia’s outdated offerings.
Internal challenges worsened the problem. Bureaucratic decision-making slowed Nokia’s response to market trends, and by the time it tried to recover, competitors had already pulled far ahead.

Nokia’s decline now serves as a timeless business lesson: success is never permanent. To survive, companies must embrace change, prioritize innovation, and anticipate customer needs. Those who fail to evolve risk losing even the strongest empires.

The man in the picture is Jean-Baptiste Kempf, the president of the non-profit organization VideoLAN, which is behind the beloved VLC Media Player. In a world where every app seems to be a gateway for ads or subscriptions, Kempf has become a legend in the tech community by consistently turning down multi-million dollar offers to sell VLC. His reason? To keep the player exactly as it is—free, open-source, and user-focused, with no ads, no trackers, and no hidden costs.
This incredible decision is a testament to a unique philosophy in the tech world: that software should empower people, not profit from them. Since its beginnings as a student project in 1996, VLC has grown into one of the most widely used media players globally, thanks to its ability to handle almost any video or audio format. Kempf and the VideoLAN team believe that money can be a "prison" and that keeping VLC independent and free is the only way to ensure it remains a powerful, accessible tool for everyone.
