The Reuters news agency, citing an unnamed US source, is reporting that Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, secured Tehran’s agreement to the proposed US ceasefire between Israel and Iran during a call with Iranian officials.
The phone call came after US President Donald Trump told Qatar’s Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani that Israel had agreed to the ceasefire and asked for Doha’s help in persuading Tehran to agree to the deal, the official told Reuters.
Trump had earlier announced that both parties had agreed to a “complete and total” ceasefire. The ceasefire agreement was reportedly reached after Iran struck the US airbase Al Udeid in Qatar late on Monday.
Meanwhile, no official confirmations have been issued by either Iran or Israel regarding the ceasefire.

Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei said his country "will not surrender" in response to remarks by US President Donald Trump.

He also warned that any direct American involvement in Israel’s war would lead to "irreparable" consequences for the United States.

“Those with wisdom who know Iran, its people, and its history, never speak to this nation in the language of threats, because the Iranian nation will not surrender," he declared in a televised speech.

"The Americans must know that any military intervention by the US will undoubtedly lead to irreparable damage," he warned.

Mr Khamenei was responding to US President Donald Trump after he demanded Tehran's “unconditional surrender” and said America's patience is wearing thin, apparently paving the way for the US to join Israel’s war against Iran.
