15/04/2025

The Editorial Board of Africa Interdisciplinary Series (AIS) of Pan-Atlantic University Press, Lagos, Nigeria, is pleased to announce that four book proposals have been accepted for the 2025 and 2026 AIS book series.

The proposals underwent a rigorous two-stage assessment, including a blind review by external assessors. The AIS Editorial Board, relying on the external assessors’ rankings of the book proposals, arrived at a final decision by considering additional factors such as market viability and the scope or coverage of the proposed book. This balanced approach ensured that the selections were not only well-reviewed but also strategically aligned with AIS’ broader publishing goals.

The two book proposals accepted for the 2025 publication series are:

1. The Trios of Trade, Migration & Digital Transformation in the African Ecosystem: A Data Science Approach edited by Dr Pius Onobhayedo (Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria/University of Southern California, USA), and Dr Kazeem Oyebode (Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria/University of Zululand, South Africa).

2. Digital Transformation and Ethical Challenges: Reshaping Africa’s Economic, Social, and Cultural Landscapes by Dr Issa Akanji Adedokun (University of Lagos, Nigeria) and Chiwenmeri Salome Mama (University of Lagos, Nigeria).

The two book proposals accepted for the 2026 publication series are:

3. Diaspora, Science, and Healthcare: Why African Elites Left, Returned, and Left Again by Georges Magloire Fokam (Catholic University of Central Africa, Yaoundé, Cameroon).

4. Enhancing Youth Leadership at the Intersection of Globalization and the AI Revolution edited by Professor Joseph O. Dankwa (Saginaw Valley State University [SVSU], USA), Professor Bernard A. Obeng (GIMPA Business School, Ghana), Professor Micah DelVecchio (SVSU), and Dr Patrick Essien (University of Cape Coast, Ghana).

It would be recalled that in January 2025, the Editorial Board of Africa Interdisciplinary Series (AIS) of Pan-Atlantic University Press announced the call for scholarly book proposals that explore and advance Africa’s positioning within the global economy while examining the interplay between trade, migration, and digital transformation. Focusing on Africa’s integration into the global landscape, this call also seeks to highlight actionable intra-African strategies and innovations—such as African-led investments, regional collaborations, and intra-continental trade—that can strengthen Africa’s role and influence in the global arena. The broad theme for this call is Africa’s Global Positioning: Trade, Migration and Digital Transformation.

African Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) of Pan-Atlantic University Press, represents a unique contribution to Africa’s intellectual discourse by promoting interdisciplinary research that explores the intersection of business, media, philosophy, and politics. While substantial research exists within each of these fields, few publications celebrate their interplay. AIS seeks to address this gap by publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed books, including authored, multi-authored, edited, and co-edited volumes, that reflect the interconnectedness of these disciplines in the African context.

The primary aim of AIS is to bridge the gaps between research, policy, and practice by publishing and disseminating works that intersect these domains, highlighting their collective contributions to Africa's development and advancement. The groundbreaking series will encourage scholars to explore the synergies between these subject areas, offering fresh perspectives on issues facing Africa today.

AIS Editorial Board

The AIS series is curated by an Editorial Board of distinguished scholars from across Africa. The Board provides thematic direction, ensuring that AIS publishes work that is innovative, rigorous, and aligned with the continent's current needs. Members of the AIS Editorial Board consist of:

1. Professor Ogechi Adeola, Chair of AIS Board (Deputy Vice-Chancellor, University of Kigali, Rwanda)
2. Professor Sherwat Elwan Ibrahim, Vice-Chair of AIS Board (School of Business, American University, Cairo, Egypt)
3. Professor Piet Naudé (Stellenbosch Business School, South Africa)
4. Professor Olatunji A. Oyeshile (Department of Philosophy, University of Ibadan, Nigeria)
5. Professor Kemi Ogunyemi (Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria)
6. Dr. Ngozi Okpara (Associate Professor, School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria)
7. Dr. Dércio Tsandzana (Department of Political Science, Eduardo Mondlane University, Maputo, Mozambique)
8. Dr Nwachukwu Egbunike, AIS Editor-in-Chief (Head, Pan-Atlantic University Press)
