**The Story of Okoro and the Dry Season**

Long ago, in a small village in Africa, there lived a hardworking farmer named Okoro and his wife, Ada. When the rains were plentiful and the harvest was good, Okoro spent most of his money on friends and celebrations. He often ignored Ada's needs and left her to struggle alone.

One year, a terrible drought struck the village. Crops failed, and many families went hungry. While others abandoned their homes in despair, Ada remained strong. Unknown to Okoro, she had been saving grains, drying vegetables, and raising chickens in the backyard. Because of her wisdom and patience, their family had enough food to survive the dry season.

Ashamed, Okoro gathered the elders and confessed, "I cared more for strangers than for the woman who shared my burdens. Yet it is my wife who has saved our family."

The oldest elder smiled and said, "A man who cares for his wife waters the roots of his own tree. When storms come, that tree will shelter him."

From that day forward, Okoro treated Ada with love, respect, and care. Their home became known as the happiest in the village, and parents told their sons, "Take care of your wife, for a good wife is not a burden but a blessing."

**Moral:** A man who loves and cares for his wife strengthens his family and secures his future.

THE JEALOUS STEP MOTHER.
Episode 3 — The Forbidden Spring

The next morning, Tarai approached Mwana with a mask of concern.

“My husband,” she said sweetly, “your daughter is becoming a woman. She must learn responsibility. Let her fetch water from the Forbidden Spring.”

Nwana frowned. The Forbidden Spring lay deep in the forest, a place whispered about in stories. But Nyarai’s voice was honeyed, and he trusted her.

“Tandi,” he said gently, “go and bring water from the spring. It is time you learned the ways of the forest.”

Tandi obeyed without complaint. She tied her clay pot with a leather strap and set off, humming softly.

But as she walked, the forest grew strangely quiet. Even the birds seemed to watch her with wide, knowing eyes.

Episode 4

The Old Woman by the Water
When Kandi reached the spring, she found an old woman sitting at the water’s edge. Her back was bent like a bow, and her hair shimmered white as river foam.

“Child,” the woman croaked, “why do you come here?”

Kandi bowed respectfully. “My stepmother sent me to fetch water.”

The old woman studied her face, searching for shadows. But Kandi’s eyes were clear.

“You carry no malice,” the woman said. “Take this instead.”

She handed Kandi a small calabash, carved with symbols that pulsed faintly like a heartbeat.

“Do not open it until you reach home. And remember — truth walks slowly, but it always arrives.”

Before Kandi could ask a question, the woman vanished like mist.

The Jealous Step Mother. Episode I

In the heart of the savannah, where the earth glowed red beneath the sun and the wind carried the scent of wild honey, lay the village of Ndoma. It was a place where stories were older than the elders, and every child grew up knowing that the spirits listened to every whispered word.

In this village lived Nwana, a hunter whose arrows never missed their mark. His daughter, Kandi, was the light of his life. Her laughter was said to coax flowers from dry soil, and her kindness made even the grumpiest elders soften.

But harmony rarely lasts forever.

After many seasons alone, Nwana remarried. His new wife, Tarai, arrived with beauty that dazzled the eye and a voice smooth as river clay. Yet beneath her charm lay a heart troubled by envy.

For everywhere she went, she heard the same thing:

“Kandi is gifted.”

“Kandi is blessed.”

“Kandi will bring honor to her family.”

Each word was a spark that lit jealousy in Tarai’s chest.

Episode Two — Seeds of Envy

Tarai watched Kandi with narrowed eyes. The girl’s grace, her gentle nature, her effortless popularity — all of it gnawed at her.

One night, as the moon cast silver shadows across the compound, Tarai sat alone grinding herbs. Her hands moved with practiced precision, but her thoughts were tangled.

“She steals the attention that should be mine,” she whispered. “Even her silence is praised.”

The herbs she ground were bitter, meant to cloud judgment and sow confusion. She planned to use them on Nwana, to turn him against his daughter.

But jealousy is a fire that grows hungry.

Soon, she wanted more than Nwana’s attention — she wanted Kandi gone.
