𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗞𝗜𝗗 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗦𝗡𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗦 😳
(𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝗼𝘀 #𝟰)
Some of our neighbors kids came to stay with us for a few hours...
As usual, I changed the channel to 'Disney Junior', the channel most children love.
Instead of watching Mickey mouse mermaid adventure, they insisted on watching channel 51 (or 61).
I pressed the channel number and it was NAT GEO WILD!
I turned to them and asked if they really want to watch this channel and they all said Yes.
"You like watching animals?" I asked again to be sure.
"Yes!" They shouted, jumping on the sofa.
"All right"
Guess which animal was on the screen?
𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗙𝗔𝗧 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗦 𝗦𝗡𝗔𝗞𝗘!
I thought they would be scared to see the snakes, instead, they were excited and then, the stories began...
The eldest one told me how a snake similar to the one on the screen bit him while he was playing in the bush.
My heart almost jumped out of my mouth!
"Seriously?" 😳
"Yes"
"Here in Lagos?"
"Yes"
He was even smiling! Ah!
He went on to point out every snake he has seen on the screen and the ones similar to it.
I learnt a whole lot about snakes, the different types of snakes and the top 10 most dangerous snakes in the world.
King Cobra
Asian Vipers
Anaconda
Green Anaconda
And many more.
I enjoyed watching NAT GEO WILD with them, enjoyed shouting and hiding my scared face whenever a snake is about to bite a human, swallow animals and fellow snakes.
Some of these snakes are cute yet dangerous, some are cunning while others shouldn't have existed in the first place.
Anyways, I learnt from NAT GEO WILD that despite all the negativities associated with snakes, they're actually very important to us.
Without them, agriculture won't survive.
Now that I think of it, mosquitoes, those blood sucking insects, are actually important to us.
A simple Google search will reveal more about this.
So, thanks to those kids, I'm now a NAT GEO WILD fan (not the snakes).
Meanwhile, would you like to have a snake as a pet?
