We are busy looking for a stand up comedian in Ukelle, I never knew we have one in north Ukelle 🀣🀣.

Can we all be on our feet as we make welcome the award winning comedian of the century Dr. J. Okputu.

PLEASE, WHO ARE WE TRYING TO FOOL?

So a road of about 39–40 kilometres is what Ukelle needs, and after all the promises, the government awarded only 5 kilometres, and we are now being told to shut up and praise them?

After almost two years, we are still discussing the same 5km and someone is proudly telling us it is 80% completed.

80% completed where? Let the people see it.

If the project has genuinely reached 80%, bring the facts before the people. Show us the project details. Tell us how much has been paid, how much remains, what caused the delay and when the entire awarded section will be completed.

You cannot keep telling suffering people to stop asking questions simply because you want to protect a politician or contractor.

Calling out poor performance is not propaganda. Asking questions is not hatred. Demanding development is not disrespect.

And please you know yourself, stop using the Governor's first visit to Ukelle as if it is a completed road project. A visit is not development. Inspection is not completion. Awarding a contract is not delivering the road.

We heard the Governor was coming to Ukelle again. I honestly don't know what happened or what he was told. But if the visit was cancelled, postponed or abandoned, the people deserve to know why.

Ukelle people are not fools. We can appreciate whatever is genuinely done while still demanding what is missing.

39–40km cannot become 5km simply because some people have decided to celebrate 5km.

And 5km cannot take forever to become a political achievement.

Let the contractor work. Let the government account. Let the people judge.

Ukelle needs development, not propaganda.

NO ROAD, NO ELECTION.

A HUMBLE APPEAL TO HIS EXCELLENCY, SENATOR PRINCE BASSEY OTU

Your Excellency, as you prepare to visit Cross River North, particularly Yala Local Government Area, I wish to make this humble appeal to you.

To be clear, I do not know the specific reason for your visit, and I do not want to assume or speculate about your agenda. But whatever brings you to Yala, I sincerely appeal to you to make your visit meaningful to the entire people of Ukelle.

Sir, please find time to visit North Ukelle.

Go beyond the places where the roads are accessible. Go to Wanikade, wanokom and Wanihem in North Ukelle, and see the condition of the Ukelle road for yourself.

Let the people not only hear that the Governor came to Yala. Let them feel that the Governor came because their concerns matter.

Your Excellency sir, when you visit, please look beyond politics and personalities. Look at the deplorable and unmotorable roads, the lack of reliable electricity, the condition of our healthcare facilities, our schools and the general lack of basic infrastructure confronting our people.

These are not just political talking points. These are the realities of human beings who wake up every day and struggle to survive in communities that have remained painfully underdeveloped.

Sir, perhaps you have heard the voices of Ukelle youths on social media. Perhaps you have seen the discussions around the No Road, No Election movement.

But I appeal to you sir, don't judge the anger until you have seen the reason behind it.

Come to North Ukelle.

See the road.

Speak with the people.

Ask the farmers how they transport their produce. Ask the sick how they reach healthcare facilities. Ask students and teachers about the condition of their schools. Ask ordinary residents what it means to live without adequate infrastructure.

Let the people speak directly to you.

And to our community leaders and those who will have the opportunity to receive His Excellency, I humbly appeal, please do not show him only the beautiful and motorable parts of Ukelle.

Do not shield the problems from the man who has the responsibility and authority to help solve them.

We came to cover the event but to be honest, I learned a lot from the keynote speakers.

Steady grinding.
