SELF CARE 2
Hey Family š„°š„°
Just as we promised, this is the continuation of our self care tips.
If you didn't see the first part, please scroll down the page and locate the post.
ā Prioritize your health
Taking care of both your physical and mental health can help you maintain a healthy balance of mind, body, and spiritāall things that will play into your well-being and ability to write productively. Make sure to set up some form of regular exercise (ideally 30 minutes or more per day!) and really stick to it.
Studies has shown that exercise triggers hormones and other changes in your brain that affect mood, thinking speed, mental sharpness and even athletic performance
In addition to exercise, make sure you're drinking enough water, getting lots of sleep, and eating healthy meals. Taking time to relax and time to socialize can also have a positive impact on your mental and physical health.
Always remember that taking care of yourself is the best way to ensure that you stay healthy, creative, and productive as a writer.
Set writing hours
Alot of times, we can get so enthusiastic and busy as writers and not have a healthy work-life balance. This is why it is essential to create writing hours for yourself and stick to them to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
Whether writing is a part- or full-time gig for you, create a regular schedule with a firm start and stop time that you know you can stick to. Choose a realistic time of day when you are most productive and least likely to be distracted. While you'll always want to jot down ideas as they come to you, try to make sure working outside of your set hours is kept to a minimum so you can use that time to really step away. You might just surprise yourself at how much more productive you can be when you give yourself the time to rest and recharge!
