How I Got My First Client With Zero Experience

When I started learning digital skills, I had no portfolio, no testimonials, no history of success. I only had one thing, hunger. The hunger to prove that skills could change my life.

I remember sending out proposals that nobody answered. I remember designing graphics that looked like a child’s homework. I remember opening my inbox every morning hoping to see a client’s reply, and finding nothing but silence.

But one day, I decided to try something different. Instead of waiting for perfection, I offered my service to a small business owner I knew. I told him, “Pay me what you can, and let me show you what I can do.” He agreed. I delivered the work with every ounce of effort in me. He loved it. And that was the start. That one job led to another. That small confidence turned into a portfolio. That single step opened the door to everything I am today.

The lesson is simple. Do not wait until you are perfect to start. Do not wait until you have all the tools or all the answers. Sometimes you just need courage, humility and a little bit of hunger.

The skills will pay you, but only if you are willing to start from somewhere.

Have you ever failed before?

If yes, then read this carefully…

Failure is one of those things everybody hides, but nobody escapes. Some people fail in business, some in relationships, some in their studies, some in their personal goals. But the truth is — failure itself is not the end, it’s simply feedback.

💡 Here’s how to rebuild yourself after failure:

1️⃣ Accept it with humility.
Don’t sugarcoat it. Don’t blame everybody around you. Accept that it happened, and that you can learn from it. Denial only delays healing.

2️⃣ Extract the lessons.
Every failure comes with a message. Ask yourself: What went wrong? Was it my planning, my effort, or my mindset? The lesson you pull out is the seed for your next success.

3️⃣ Rebuild your confidence.
Failure often damages self-belief more than anything else. Remind yourself of the things you’ve done right before. Surround yourself with people and environments that speak life back into you.

4️⃣ Start small, but start again.
Don’t wait until everything looks perfect. Sometimes, the best way to recover is to take one small step forward. A new plan, a new routine, a new attempt — no matter how little.

5️⃣ Trust in Allah’s wisdom.
What feels like a setback may actually be a setup for something greater. Maybe that failure saved you from worse harm. Maybe it’s shaping you into the person who will handle bigger success better.

✨ The truth is this: Failing doesn’t make you a failure. Staying down after failing does.

So, if you’ve failed before, stand up again. Rebuild yourself with the bricks of your lessons. Remember: diamonds are only made after pressure, and stars only shine in darkness.

but you can just call me the tech guy who’s allergic to being broke and passionate about turning phones into cash machines. 📱💸

I’m a Software Developer by brain, a Military Man by body, and a Serial Techpreneur by hustle.
Basically, I teach tech by day, write codes at night, and still manage to dodge SAPA like a pro. 😂

A registered Software Development company and Tech Skills Academy where we build apps, design websites, teach tech skills, and help people say goodbye to “I’m broke, please borrow me 2k.” 🙃
