While I wait for tomorrow to celebrate another year added, let me use today to honor the road that brought me this far.

It’s about the patience I learned, boundaries I built, courage to start over and over, then the grace of God to keep moving.

I am not there yet , but I am so proud of how far I’ve come.

The paths I never imagined, I have walked.
Weight I didn’t think I was strong enough or capable to hold I don run am.

Survival became my victory.✌🏻

I met seasons that broke me, some rebuilt me loudly and some quietly.

Kai, not everything made sense but they all shaped who I am today.

All I can say, life didn’t come with a map but I am navigating it the best way I can.

As my birthday meets me tomorrow, I look back not with regrets but gratitude and understanding.

It's been a norm, we are use to the fight and everyday quarrel.

We are two families, living side by side but never side by side in peace or love 💕
Tribal difference played another ugly role.

We the Udo's and the Adesina had been neighbours for over a decade, it was a land dispute that turned us to enemies.
Words were no longer changed, except through glares over the garden fence 🏡
Little did anyone know that in the same garden, fate had planted two curious hearts 🥰

Amanda Udo my ten year old niece , always seen with a book in one hand and a journal in the other hand; a sign that she loves to study '.

Across is thirteen year old Faruq Adesina who loved sketching birds that flew between trees 🌴 🌲
One evening, as Amanda reached for a fallen mangi on our side of the fence, Faruq's hand reached out from the other side.
They froze, then giggled.

That tiny moment immediately cracked the wall years of hate has built.

"I'm more than ready", I said, emboldened by the moment. Together, we could traverse the depths of our desires, unearthing the rich veins of connection and trust that awaited our discovery. And in that shared adventure, I knew we'd find something far more valuable than mere gold ~a bond forged in authenticity and intimacy, one that could withstand the test of time.
Our journey began with a simple question, but I could sense it will lead to places we had only dared to dream about. I could feel that we were on the brink of something transformative, and with every word spoken and every touch exchanged, we were laying the first stones of a new reality... The way he spoke ignited something within me ~the urge to explore, to excavate the treasures hidden beneath the facade of our everyday lives. I wondered what lay beneath the surface of his words, what desires flickered like hidden embers waiting for a spark.
Did he recognise the longing mirrored in my gaze? Maybe 🤔
I leaned closer, my pulse racing and whispered back, "Then let's dig together. Let's uncover what lies beneath". A thrill coursed through me as we both understood that the journey would be just as meaningful as the destination. With each revelation, we would peel back the layers of our souls, revealing the raw , vulnerable truths that pulsed like heartbeats beneath the surface.
He nodded, a slow grin spreading across his face, and I could see a flicker of excitement in his eyes.
"I am ready if you are", he replied, his tone both daring and inviting.

Nothing is as painful as looking at yourself in the mirror to see how much you have changed because of sickness, a type that you will have to deal with forever, a type you have to live with till you are no more. Ailments without cure rather expensive management, drugs that change your look, constant steroids that ends up giving you buffalo 🦬 effects.
The sickness drains your pocket and yet drain you.

A picture lover would suddenly stop snapping because she can no longer feel herself in pictures, you stop dressing up because no dress fits again like it used to, you stopped showing up on occasions or events because people would definitely ask what is wrong with you or why the recent look?.

Gradually you start withdrawing from people and things that used to make you happy, from being withdrawn, you gradually fall into depression.
