Yesterday, I was at the barbers shop and I overheard some guys chatting on how to Japka.
I picked interest in the discussion but didn't utter any word as they discuss most deadly strategies to jakpa.
It is always true that success is a journey that will never end until you are successful but to be successful in this jakpa process has little chance of survival.
When they spoke concerning the live boat approach, someone mentioned that on the process, you will pass through various deadly forces which will give you a 50/50 life chance and that if you eventually survive that phase, the later may be worse.
I was just keen on this discussion till when one of them discussed about the Sahara desert migration which caused me to remember a woman who used that route and found herself in Libya after the death of 31 other persons that journeyed with her from Nigeria. She said their masters doesn't care about who dies or who wants to die. Once you are lifeless, they offboard you and the journey continues.
To me, nearly every part of the illegal journey a migrant makes from Nigeria to Europe across the Sahara desert and the Mediterranean is filled with peril.
As their discussion continued, I noticed that it's a choice many young people face. With odds stacked against them, given the ever-rising unemployment rates and an uncertain economy, life-risking illegal migration has become an increasingly normalized option for young Nigerians facing a difficult or uncertain future.
But then, jakpaing is never the option, especially when you use the deadly approach.
For those thinking towards this way to jakpa, just be reminded that life has no duplicate. You die, you are gone!
From your little corner, be engaged with a business and patiently watch it grow and leave happily from your little corner with your family.
If you can't go to school maybe because of fund, get a skill, develope and maintain it. Nigeria is filled with opportunities but roaming unsystematically will only blind your eyes and make you see worse daily.
The worst of it all is our circle of association. Go to where you find what you desire.
Respectfully speaking, most of our youths who engages in negative activities come as a result of who they follow and the places they go to.
Remember the law of recognition- (Everything you need is already in or around you, only awaiting your recognition. There is nothing you need that was not already in existence before you ever thought you needed it.) when you place relevance on a thing or belief, you start seeing it everywhere - when you want to be successful, always align your self with people that are successful and have a proven business or social record.
I pray we start envisioning positivity and opportunities to utilize so we can indulge in things that will ruin us and our future as young people.
