This is one of the questions I get asked a lot: “How do I hear from God?”
It’s simple — very simple.
Although this 11-second reel doesn’t cover it, it’s a good start.
God doesn’t have a formula, but He sure has principles.
First thing is His Word. You have to read and study His Word to know His voice, because He is His Word. So to know Him, you have to know His Word — there’s no two ways about it.
While in His Word, Scripture will sometimes jump at you, especially the ones that have never meant anything to you before. Pay attention to them. Pray with them. Meditate on them. Honestly, when this happens, it’s undeniable and you can’t ignore it.
His Word in John 10:27 says His sheep know His voice. God speaks in the same frequency and you will know when He does speak.
Another scripture I love, and one He has personally instructed me with, is Psalm 46:10, and it’s to “be still and know that He is God.” To hear His voice is to trust that He is God and that He speaks. Stillness is how God loves to communicate with us the most, because He is not going to compete with your distractions.
For me, hearing His voice is not the hard part, and I am sure almost every believer will agree. Taking the next step — obeying — is the hardest part. So just pray for grace to obey, because if there’s something I know about God, it’s that He works in steps.
Also remember that He’s so in love with you and wants to speak to you more than you want to hear Him speak.
