BREAKING NEWS; VETERAN NOLLYWOOD ACTOR RECOUNTS HIS EXPERIENCE WITH MR PETER OBI AS HE WISH HIM A HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
In his words; It’s Okwute’s birthday.
I was opportune to meet Mr Peter Obi when he was Governor of Anambra state and i was still a trader in Main Market Onitsha.
That faithful morning, I was standing on Bright street when 2 Jeeps drove by and stopped. The glass of the front seat came down and behold, it was Peter Obi, our Governor, seated in front, no sirens, no noise.
He greeted us and beckoned on us to come. I stood there, rooted to the ground, staring in surprise and smiling foolishly.
He praised us for keeping the street clean and the shops organised and asked if we had any troubles in the market.
We responded and told him “Ndi mpiawazu” a group that had government backing which had left their duties and was brutalising traders and customers.
Peter nodded and left.
When we told other people in the street that it was our Governor that had stopped to speak to us, they didn’t believe us.
The following day, “Ndi Mpiawazu” was disbanded by the government.
Happy birthday Mr Peter Obi, the people’s president.
