Bayelsa Monthly Praise Night: Gov. Diri appreciates God, Bayelsans for tribunal victory
..thanks Judiciary for displaying integrity

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri has appreciated God and the people of the State for the tribunal victory against him and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

The Governor who was overwhelmed with thanks and joy was speaking at the May edition of the monthly Praise Night at the Kings of Glory Chapel, Government House, Yenagoa.

Gov. Diri thanked the Chairman of the panel and other members of the Tribunal for their uprightness in delivering sound judgement without compromise.

"Today's praise night is special to us because we are holding it after our Tribunal victory. They challenged us after we stopped them from rigging. Because we stopped them from killing, stealing and destroying our State, they went to the Tribunal.

They were boasting they have connection and a strong case against us. But they don't know we have God Almighty and the people of Bayelsa State. All the cases against me and my Deputy were dismissed.

I am happy because the Tribunal Judges displayed their integrity. The Judges did what the law required. They refused to be compromised.

So, my dear brothers and sisters of Bayelsa State, this state has been handed over to God. This state can never go back to Egypt”, Gov. Diri stated.

Other dignitaries at the praise night were; the wives of the Governor, Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Diri and Justice (Mrs.) Patience Ama Diri, the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrujakpo, Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere and other members of the State Assembly, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, Commissioners, Local Government Chairmen and other top government functionaries.
