The Alarming State of Parklane Hospital, Enugu.

This is a sincere and urgent call to the Management of the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (Parklane), the Chief Medical Director Prof. BSC Ngwu, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, and all relevant health agencies in Enugu State to immediately address the disturbing and unsafe environmental conditions within the hospital premises.
Video and photographic evidence from concerned individuals reveal a shameful, filthy, and offensive state of the hospital environment, particularly around the Children’s Ward, both front and back, as well as other parts of the hospital.
The premises are dirty, slippery, and reek of an unbearable stench, making the environment unfit for any form of healing or medical care.
How can patients, especially children, be brought to a hospital seeking recovery, only to risk contracting new infections or diseases due to poor sanitation ?
A hospital is meant to be a place of safety, recovery, and hope, not a breeding ground for sickness and despair.
This is not the first or second time such complaints have been raised concerning Parklane Hospital, yet nothing concrete has been done.
Sadly, those in charge, the CMD, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, and Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, appear unmoved and disconnected from the realities of the masses. Why? Because they do not rely on these public facilities when ill, they fly abroad for treatment in clean, functional, and dignified hospitals, leaving the poor to suffer and die in these deplorable conditions.
The people of Enugu State deserve better. T
hey deserve clean hospitals, basic hygiene, and leaders who care.
It is heartbreaking and inhumane to treat the lives of the poor with such disregard.
We ask again, who did the people of Enugu State offend to deserve such neglect?
The time to act is now.
Public health must never be compromised.
The lives of the people must be prioritized.
Clean up Parklane Hospital. Restore dignity to our healthcare system.
