I have been contemplating this issue for quite some time: WHY DO MEN FREQUENTLY DISREGARD THEIR HEALTH?

A recent incident involving a patient rushed in after a road traffic accident, who sustained a deep head laceration leading to a skull fracture and a fractured wrist, illustrates this concern. Following treatment, the patient demanded to be discharge to attend to his business, which is alarming, particularly considering his recent near-death experience. Many men become so engrossed in providing for their families that they neglect their own well-being, forgetting that their life is essential. While responsibilities can be overwhelming, prioritizing one's health is crucial. Dear men, please make time for medical check-ups and take care of your health; your families, wives, and children need you to be fine.

PS: our nursing team counseled the patient, and he stayed.

IT IS BETTER TO HAVE HIV THAN TO GET HEPATITIS B&C
YOU MUST BE LOOKING SHOCKED RIGHT NOW🀣
I KNOW LET ME LAND FIRSTπŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
HIV is deadly but not easily transmitted. You can't get it by mere kissing unless there is a cut , you can't get it through hugging either

But my brothers and sisters, hepatitis can be gotten through kissing, via sweat; meaning you can get it by hugging an infected person who is sweating

With this few point of mine, I hope you can see reasons with me

ACTING ALL GOOFY TODAY πŸ€ͺπŸ˜‹πŸ€£ I've started working in the ICU, and the experience has been awesome. During nursing school, I avoided the ICU (intensive care unit) because I felt I wasn't cut out for the kind of nursing care provided there; I felt I wasn't careful enough to offer quality care to ICU patients due to their condition. Today, I'm enjoying the ICU; it's a great opportunity for growth in my nursing career.

COLLEGE OF NURSING SCIENCES AEFUTHA GETS APPROVAL FOR POST-BASIC NURSING IN NEPHROLOGY, INTENSIVE CARE AND ACCIDENT AND EMERGENCY

A new era has dawned in Ebonyi State and the Southeast Nigeria, as the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (AEFUTHA), Ebonyi State proudly announces that the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has officially granted accreditation to its College of Nursing Sciences for specialized training in nursing education.

During the 17th Annual Nephrology Nurses Conference held at the National Hospital Abuja, the Secretary General/Registrar of NMCN, Dr. Faruk Umar Abubakar revealed the approval for the School of Post-Basic Nephrology at AEFUTHA, making it one of only a few centres nationwide to offer this advanced and elite training. IN ADDITION *The NMCN also approved post basic training in Accident and Emergency, Critical Care(ICU)* making AEFUTHA a Centre for Post-Basic Nursing in:
Accident and Emergency Nursing
Nephrology Nursing
Critical Care (ICU) Nursing

This prestigious accreditation, in accordance with Section 14 (Subsections 1 & 2) of the Act 143, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (2004), represents a significant advancement in nursing education in Ebonyi State, positioning the Southeast as a growing hub for specialized healthcare training. It is also a major boost to the Honourable Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate’s agenda of enhancing specialized healthcare services nationwide.

Under the exceptional leadership of Prof. Robinson Chukwudi Onoh, Chief Medical Director of AEFUTHA, the hospital continues to lead transformative healthcare initiatives. His unwavering commitment and dedication to the hosting of the different scoping visit teams, verification, and accreditation teams proved a formidable support in the course of the journey. His consistent push for excellence in healthcare education and service delivery has ensured AEFUTHA's inclusion among the elite centres advancing specialized nursing education in Nigeria.

Effective November 2024, admission forms will be on sale, and the college will commence the following specialized programs with student intakes in the accredited Post-Basic subspecialties.

This development not only strengthens AEFUTHA’s commitment to delivering world-class healthcare services but offers unique opportunity for aspiring nurses to receive world-class training in critical and specialized care, providing essential skills that will meet the growing demand for specialized healthcare across the country.

Congratulations to the management and the entire hospital community as AEFUTHA continues to raise the bar in healthcare education and practice!
