“Yesterday, my mum and my brother travelled. They even travelled before I woke up. They went to my mum’s farm in Ogun State.
When they got there, I spoke with my brother, I spoke with my mum, we even sent pictures, and all of a sudden, he was not online.
It was his friend that reached out to me that my brother was not online, which is very, very unusual because he is always online. I said maybe his phone went off.
He said no, that he carried a big power bank when he was going. I said probably network issues since they were at the farm, in the middle of nowhere.
Not until last night. I went out, got home tired and slept. I don’t know why I suddenly woke up, then I saw my mum’s notification came in. She sent a voice note.
‘Aminat, I have been k!dn@pp£d and they are demanding ₦100 million, but I have been able to plead with them to accept ₦50 million. Please help me look for it so they can rele@s£ me.’
I called her instantly while she was trying to explain the situation to me, but the person h!t her and collected back the phone.
I have been calling both her and my brother’s number, but it has not been going through. This morning again, she called and asked how much we have raised because they are asking for cash.
I asked her where my brother was, and she said she has not seen my brother because they carried them separately, and I have not been able to reach my brother...”
