I woke up this morning to see this painful and inimical act done to an innocent girl and everywhere, people are crying out for justice.
But here’s my take…

Parents, it’s not enough to only protect the girls we must raise the boys right too.
Groom them with discipline, empathy, and respect for humanity. When the boys are safe, the girls are safe too.

And to every guardian or caregiver out there: please, treat every child in your care as your own. Don’t overlook their needs, don’t silence their pain. Listen. Care. Protect.
Sometimes, a little attention could save a life.

Right now, my heart is heavy.
A young girl’s light was cut short because of a system that failed her failed to protect, failed to act, and failed to teach.
Let’s do better, for the sake of every innocent child still depending on us.

S*x education isn’t one big talk , it’s an ongoing conversation that grows with your child. Teaching boys and girls about their bodies, boundaries, and respect is not just okay, it’s necessary. Here's a quick guide to get it right ✅:

🔹 Ages 2–5:
🔸 Use proper names for body parts (e.g., p***s, v***a).
🔸 Teach safe and unsafe touch.
🔸 Encourage body autonomy: “You don’t have to hug if you don’t want to.”
🔸 Normalize privacy and respect for others’ bodies.

🔹 Ages 6–9:
🔸 Discuss basic reproductive facts and where babies come from (age-appropriately).
🔸 Talk about feelings, boundaries, and consent in friendships.
🔸 Begin simple conversations about puberty.

The Power of a Name 💛

As teachers, one of the most meaningful things we can do is simply remember our pupils’ names. It may seem small, but it goes a very long way ,it creates connection, builds trust, and makes children (and their families) feel seen and valued.

A few weeks ago, I had a beautiful encounter that reminded me of this truth. I met a man with his adorable baby girl, about 7 months old. As a curious educator, I struck up a conversation ,asking questions, listening, and learning. It turned out he was her father, and during that brief chat, I learned her name.

Fast forward a month later, I saw them again, this time in a tricycle. I smiled and called the baby by her name.

He was stunned.
“Wow, you still remember her name?” he said, visibly moved.
He told me how special that made him feel , so much so that he paid my transport fare that day! 😄

That simple moment reminded me just how important it is to pay attention, to listen, and to remember. Names carry meaning, identity, and value ,especially for children.

So to every educator reading this: never underestimate the impact of calling your pupils by name. It’s not just about learning, it’s about belonging. 💛

I call him my dearest uncle so meek,kind,caring,humble wow 😳his wife is lucky.

The only uncle who loves to call me aunty.....🥴I was better use to it because he won't stop calling me that.

I remembered vividly some years ago I told him about him about my plan to go for and his response blew my mind,I can never forget.

He said "yes! Why not? I trust you will make it there and do so well"This was mind blowing at first I thought he was pulling my legs, so I told him I don't think I have the voice and every other thing to be there , surprisingly to me he just laughed and said isn't about the voice or any other thing but is about your uniqueness and that is all that matters .Ever since then I have been bold and courageous to take that step and also to tell people around me about it without not fearing am going to be mocked or laughed at,well yes I made it to the Nigeria idol auditions but wasn't picked for the final screen audition 😪,I also have an opportunity to go for the voice of Africa auditions with my hubby but (e be like say my village people dey do me)I lost my reg number but all hope is not lost 🤣🤣will continue the doings till I get there by God's grace.

Yes o! I grew up watching her from being an actor into an industrious woman. Her story line in making it to the limelight really got me inspired coupled with her being versatile and fierce. Aunty funke I so much love everything about you,your being versatile, independent,goal getter,and also the love you so much have for the youth and women this made me remember your saying "giving back to the society" ,I would love to give back to the children world when I become great like you ,your film (jenifer diary )coupled with your program (funke inspires)was an eye opener into becoming a great person irrespective of your background. Your new program on funke inspires you talked about selflove and ever since then I've learnt to invest more on myself . Thanks for inspiring me and women at large, thanks for breaking the bars , hope to see you one day and I will be very happy and glad to have a nice time with you 😪.

INDIVIDUAL THAT GOT ME INSPIRED

After I lost my job into the cold hands of COVID-19 I went to a nearby general hospital close to my house for a menial job (as a hardworking girl wey I be na😁)I kept on doing it for a token to a woman who is an HOD record officer in the hospital.
Just one beautiful day on my way going for a private home lesson (this one na my side hustle 🤣) I received a call to come quickly to the hospital and which I went to my greatest surprise It was the MD and his wife that requested for my presence unknown to me they've been seeing me around and was compelled to ask about me from the woman I was working for hmmmm it is called grace. To cut the long story they became my mini parent ,they both shared their life experiences with me in other to encourage me never to give up even when I fell out of the line they didn't give up on me neither did they judge me 😭 I cannot write the history of myself without their names not been mentioned,they were a rare giver with a heart of Gold,God knows I can never forget their positive impact at every point of my life ,I am super grateful to have known them ,am grateful for their support and love towards me I could remember telling them of my next move , they were happy and was very supportive ever since then especially mummy Darren who often check on me via calls,I know am guilty of not reaching out to them since this year started 🤣🤣and that's because they are always concerned about my growth and which am working towards on.....all words put together cannot describe how good you've been to me. Thanks for all your words of advice,thanks for your love and support, thanks for always relating with me like a daughter and a sister am super grateful 🙏 May your children and your generation beyond continue to experience God's favor.

INDIVIDUAL THAT GOT ME INSPIRED
My mum is the first person to have inspired me. Am not saying this because she's my mother ,but am saying this because oh! yes she really inspired me through her life journey as a woman which I so much took pleasure in 🥰.
Incase you don't know 👉my mum is the CEO of , growing up I know her to be very creative mention one skill my mum can't do and at the top of it all she didn't learn most of them,I was opportuned to pay her a visit and trust my mum she did her fascinator herself mere by looking at the one she bought from the market🤩.
Am so happy and pleased to have her as a mother even when she likes me doing things her own Jesus way🤣🤣. I know her to be a very humble woman so down to the earth ,wish I had that attribute and she can greet for Africa following her out today oh Jesus! My leg wan bend God knows I can never return the same way I came😪😔 and she's also good at heart pouring always saying her mind in a pleasant way and also she's one of the strongest and independent woman have ever known always making things happen,she never limit herself in adding values to herself ,so surprised at her age some years ago she told me she wanted acquiring another skill and she did, taking another training with that she taught me that age is not a barrier in reaching goals in life🤔. She's a lover of God always getting involved in every church activities. Thanks for being an inspiration to me, thanks settling for less, thanks for your unwavering love and support , like my husband will always tell my kids "without your mum just know you can't survive" same way I couldn't have survived without you am so much grateful 🙏, You shall continually to eat the fruit of your labour.

Yesterday's vigil service@ DUNAMIS INT'L GOSPEL CENTER GLORY DOME�DUNAMIS INT'L GOSPEL CENTER GLORY DOME�was a lit 🔥all thanks to God for the open doors of blessings, healing,hope.
Following the ministration of Deborah Paul-Enenche I can bodly say I was blessed but I saw something that really got me shedding tears and that was the massive support from her parents especially from daddy 😭😭this really melted my heart and I told myself, I may not have the support,care,love, affection I needed as a child from my father but I promise myself to be always there for mine children,am gonna show them all the love, affection and support they needed from me to grow.
However this explains one of the reasons she can never leave her parents as some people would say, if to be me my dear , I would rather die there 🤣🤣cause the atmosphere is choking with love 😘.
To Daddy Paul eneche thanks for inspiring a young parent like me .
