If these are all built around subsistence, then this is definitely not the kind of men nor the kind of women needed in today's and Future African societies.

There is need for a mindset shift. The subsistence mindset has brought about a lot of vices.

Individualism and endemic Corruption to name a few, when the understanding of living for cadres of men and women revolves around personal finance and family.

Beyond subsistence, Men and Women with a larger world view and sustained vision for the society are what is needed.

The mindset shift would drive it.

Considering this and its obvious implications.

If it's to continue, then the content of the education would need to be appropriately tailored to bring back the minds and orientation of the recipients to their native societies.

For many people from this part of the world, the content of their gratitude to God is if not entirely in their perceived individualistic blessings .. scarcely does the gratitude ever include their impact on the lives of others or the society around them.

If education and religion are the strongest voices we hear, then it appears, we have been raised and are still being raised as a society of fundamentally individualistic (selfish) beings.. and it’s evident in our conduct and interpersonal relations, aspirations, and the way things play out in our society today.

It’s a subconscious ingraining of Individualism, masking as a quest for standing out or survival, despite ironically, being in a society of abundance where everyone can become whatever they dream they can be, if a few and more variables are put in order.

𝐒𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲, 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. The best such amounts is to become tools and stewards and ready products and raw materials for other collective societies. This makes some parts of the world merely resource farms most notably since the advent of colonialism and neo-colonialism.

📌 At least get a significant percentage of the Nation-States in Africa to break out from the illusion and misshaping of Individualism with a shift to collectivism, and there's sustainable hope for such a society

Hence, reform their value systems through the voices of education and religion, in both formal and informal, and of culture, and there would be change.

The Future we seek and all that we need is in the shift.. of our value system. The shift from 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐭𝐨 >>> 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐦, which can be achieved through the reviewed voice instruments of education, religion, and culture.

And if there is then any perceived individualism, it is innately (channeled at) collectivism when the individual citizens of the society have been ingrained in the value base and upbringing of collectivism (brotherhood).

Today's world comprises Nation-States, Annexes (backyards), Direct rule, and Indirect rule.

Consider how the above applies to your society and how yours can advance..

Today in '21

We've been conditioned by both religion and the design of our education to lose the conscious identity of who we are.

Europeans are Europeans, Arabs are Arabs, but Africans are by large, Christians and Muslims.

Understand conquest and religion. They often go together. Religion and (mis)education are tools employed by conquerors. We've been shared among two worlds, yet the basis of Africa's emancipation is in our common identity. We are Africans. Hope you get it.

You'd observe that the African countries listed here are all English speaking. It's same way the best human and other resources flow..

not ignoring the consistent revenue generation by America, Europe, and Australia from educational tourism and such like flows from such countries in Africa, in this case, English speaking.

This tells you the power of language. When you borrow (other people's) language, it comes with huge implications which also increases when a people (society) has less internal control.

It is also why by default, citizens fantasize moving to such countries, fantasize about their culture, fraudulent citizens also consider such directions... at the root is the power of a borrowed language.

Begining antidote to the aforementioned is development of the indegenous language bases, which would also help strengthen the local culture and identity which are strong bedrocks of commitment, understanding, unity and development.

The continent or regional blocks could also adopt an African language along side mainstream, all these done in coherence with the African Union - AU.

Adopting an African language like Swahili for instance would knit (integrate) the continent together, bringing the minds of the people back to Africa. The adoption could also be regional, like at the West African level for instance.

That power in using a local language would then be harnessed to far greater good just like and more than it happens with the borrowed language.

It is in many ways time for Africa to advance forward, and Language is at the heart of it. It would come with its challenges but the citizens are equal to the task. Each African might have to learn minimum of 3 languages.

Native language which is mandatory, regional and/or continental, and a mainstream language. A national isolationist language might not be necessary. The AU can formulate and promulgate a transition process to oust isolationist national languages in Africa.

It's all in plane tenets of the Future which is Nigeria, AFRICA through Humanity.

The African society has to raise the level of objective thinking and birth a society with sustained objective thinking. All levels of education can be tweaked to help with that. We often digress. Sentiments, biases and all .. instead of focusing on the issue.
