For many people from this part of the world, the content of their gratitude to God is if not entirely in their perceived individualistic blessings .. scarcely does the gratitude ever include their impact on the lives of others or the society around them.
If education and religion are the strongest voices we hear, then it appears, we have been raised and are still being raised as a society of fundamentally individualistic (selfish) beings.. and it’s evident in our conduct and interpersonal relations, aspirations, and the way things play out in our society today.
It’s a subconscious ingraining of Individualism, masking as a quest for standing out or survival, despite ironically, being in a society of abundance where everyone can become whatever they dream they can be, if a few and more variables are put in order.
𝐒𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲, 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. The best such amounts is to become tools and stewards and ready products and raw materials for other collective societies. This makes some parts of the world merely resource farms most notably since the advent of colonialism and neo-colonialism.
📌 At least get a significant percentage of the Nation-States in Africa to break out from the illusion and misshaping of Individualism with a shift to collectivism, and there's sustainable hope for such a society
Hence, reform their value systems through the voices of education and religion, in both formal and informal, and of culture, and there would be change.
The Future we seek and all that we need is in the shift.. of our value system. The shift from 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐭𝐨 >>> 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐦, which can be achieved through the reviewed voice instruments of education, religion, and culture.
And if there is then any perceived individualism, it is innately (channeled at) collectivism when the individual citizens of the society have been ingrained in the value base and upbringing of collectivism (brotherhood).
‘...He has done it for me’, ‘what about us?’
It's all in-plane Tenets of the Future (Nigeria, Africa through Humanity)..
