A MIXER THAT IS SPIRITUAL

The person (mixer) behind the mixing board is the invisible member of the worship team and serves an important role in the house of worship. He or she yields tremendous influence over how everyone experiences worship. So it’s important to get the right person for the job.
Skillful audio engineers like to listen to music regularly, to train their ears and hone their instincts. Never put someone behind the mixing board simply because he/she's interested in being there; instead, the house of worship leader must identify and develop people who up are gifted in this specific area plus have reverence for things of God.
It will be counterproductive to evangelise and bring God's people together and they can not hear the word with precision and pristine sound.
The Bible is clear in
Romans 10:14-15 (NIV)
And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

In the same vein as in Romans 10:17, "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."

Sound System operators must be spiritual. They are part of the process of bringing the word of God to the people

LIVE SOUND SYSTEMS AND TECHNIQUES CERTIFICATE COURSE

3 MONTHS DURATION.

The live sound course provides a range of theoretical knowledge which will prepare every students with the technical know-how to operate, manage and deliver a professional live music events, PA system and house of worship sound reinforcement system.

The course covers all principles of sound reinforcement and exposes students to practical solutions in driving a performance of any scale.

COURSE OUTLINE:

1. Basic Live Sound System Principles and Theories
2. System Components Designs and Usage Techniques
3. Loudspeakers and Monitor Systems
4. Equipment Interconnection Basics
5. System Configurations and Layouts
6. Creating an Excellent Mix
7. Creative Approach to Live Sound Reinforcement Systems.

DURATION: 12 weeks.
Lectures: 1 day per week.

Course Fee: N120,000

GENERAL MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENT.

1. At least three credit pass or five passes in any subject including English Language in WAEC/NECO SSCE or GCE O’Level, NABTEB or any equivalent qualification.
2. Students awaiting result can also apply

3 Interested candidates for the ONLINE COURSE must have the following requirements:

A minimum of SSCE certificate or equivalents with at least a Pass in English Language
Must have at least a minimum of 3 years working experience in the audio industry ( evidence of audio productions and work experiences must be produced).

Access to Live Sound Equipment and Venue will also be and added advantage for same reasons.

All candidates will be given an oral interview to produce a suitable evidence based on years of experience and a reasonable chance of success in the program.

MODE OF STUDY

The mode of study will be by receiving lecture notes through email and attending classes ONLINE twice a week for lectures and interactive tutorial sessions.. Mature students above age of 20 with less qualification and more than two years work experience will attend oral interview.

There are a myriad of things to do with placement of monitors, mic selection, balancing out the band on stage and aiming things so that the feedback is eliminated organically. That is the true pleasure and art of being a good soundman for me. I try to do as little as possible from the console. I've worked on many gigs without tweaking GEQ (Graphic Equaliser) and the band get started with nodding of head and nice smile of satisfaction.
Why do sound man Crying for GEQ in live sound when they could avoid feedback organically??
