I may sound harsh, and I don’t mean to be, but sometimes the truth doesn’t land unless it is spoken plainly.
Igbo political leaders who believe that by constantly playing “boy boy” to Northern and Western politicians, power will one day be handed to the South East are either painfully naïve or deliberately deceiving themselves.
We have watched this pattern for years.
Men like Senator Orji Uzor, my respected brother Senator Rochas Okorocha and others aligned loyally, nationally, defended interests, mobilized support.
Yet when it truly mattered, what did we hear?
“We can’t trust an Igbo man.”
So I ask; what then was the value of all that LOYALTY?
Were they only useful as political jobbers?
Now look at the current climate.
The North itself feels sidelined under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration and is seeking new alliances to challenge the APC structure.
Naturally, the Southeast should be a strategic partner.
But instead, some short-sighted money-driven interests prefer to “connect to the center,” even when that center offers little in return.
The Cubanas, Chiefpriests, Zencos and Co, are more interested in personal interest.
Mana, ya dịwa.
Anya na elekwa!
