*OUR NEED TO RISE ABOVE THE INSECURITY SITUATION IN ESAN LAND; ADDRESSING THE RECENT INCIDENT IN UROMI*

The insecurity situation in Esanland right now is indeed alarming and of a very great concern to anyone; even more so considering the recent incident in Uromi where 7 Fulanis suspected to be kidnappers were set ablazed and killed.
It is apparent that farmers can no more freely go to their farms and some have even jettisoned the motivation of it, getting into different Businesses. Our daughters can no more walk freely in their own communities because they are deeply afraid of being taken, r***d, etc.. Our sons are killed before our very eyes or radicalised. We've seen situation where certain persons entered communities in Esanland and slaughtered alot of people: it was a boodbathe. The list goes on and it has caused and triggered a situation that, if care is not taken, it will get to a flashpoint that might very much cause a serious War situation; hence the need for everyone in our communities to stay calm, do the needful to stand with and work with the Security Agencies of Edo State (Esanland). We need to, to permanently sought out the insecurity problem in Esanland.
MY EMPATHY
Before I continue, it is very important we all empathise with as many who have lost a family member, Businesses, their Farms, Properties, etc. as a result of attacks from certain persons no matter what they are called; whether Fulani Herdsmen, extremist, terrorists, etc. My heartfelt condolences to everyone who have been affected one way or the other. May the good Lord console, comfort and give your families the multiple blessings that will make you feel Joy unspeakable as He continue to protect us all from all kinds of evils.
REALITY
The reality is, insecurity situation that presents dangers to human lives can trigger the:
● Phobia
● Fear
● Fright
● Frezze
● Flight
● Fight
functions of the subconscious mind and the fight function can go either ways if those threatened feels they're not getting the attention they need to keep them safe. The very bad security situation in Esanland is a critical one and must be handled with every discretion and Intelligence possible. Let's all try not to take the laws into our hands. From Uromi to Ekpoma, Irrua, Iguebe and Ubiaja, please, let's not take the laws into our hands to kill anyone under uncalled for suspicions.
TOGETHER, WE CAN OVERCOME THE INSECURITY SITUATION IN ESANLAND
The insecurity situation in Esanland should more bring us together as one to tackle and destroy it. The following are some of the action steps we can take to put things in control:
1. Call for an emergency Community Town Hall meeting for those who have not yet;
2. Brainstorm amongst us to form Security Watch Body made up of capable persons who will be motivated continously;
3. Inform the Police of the Local Government (DPO) of the Community Security Watch Body and their Job description;
4. Among alot of their duties, they should stand in watch of the communities and doing the needful to maintain law and order to have peace and protection of human lives and Properties in their communities;
5. Work with the Police Force to maintain community protocol and any persons, groups, body, etc. who violate the protocol should be arrested and handed over to the Police to be prosecuted;
6. The Security Watch Body should continue to observe their duties protocol to maintain the order and peace of their communities as they continue to do the Job of continous development to secure their communities.
