Police rescue American woman tricked by 23-year-old 'Yahoo Boy' from US to Nigeria

A United States citizen, Vonapolouis Moss, has explained to the Kwara State Police Command how she was tricked into (travelling to) Nigeria by a 23-year-old suspected Internet) fraudster known as “yahoo boy”.

Moss of 2962, W 64th Court, Merrillville, Indiana 46410, USA said she was lured into the country on January 9, 2023, by the suspect, said to be an internet (Internet) fraudster who (had) ripped her off thousands of dollars since her arrival.

“We met on social media and he invited me to visit Nigeria but when I came, he took me to the bureau de change to change money to Nigeria currency and he also took me to ShopRite.

"When the money on me finished, he told me to tell my people to send more money,” she told the police during interrogation.

The foreigner said that she liked Nigeria but said that she would like to return to the US.

Actor 'Papa Ajasco' Is Dead

Veteran Nollywood actor, Femi Ogunrombi aka Papa Ajasco, is dead.

His death was confirmed by a theatre practitioner, Husseini Shaibu, via his Twitter handle on Sunday,

He wrote, “I have just been reliably informed that the ethnomusicologist, former Music Instructor with and one time stand in for the 'Papa Ajasco' character on the popular comic series 'Papa Ajasco' Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is dead."

Husband Allegedly Beat Wife To Death Over Loaf Of Bread In Anambra

A young mother-of-five has d!ed allegedly after she was beaten by her husband over a loaf of bread.

The deceased, identified as Ogochukwu Anene, from Umuokpu village in Awka, Anambra State, was married to one Mr Ndubisi Wilson Uwadiegwu from Enugu state and their union was blessed with four sons and a daughter.

However, the union was allegedly plagued by domestic v!olence.

On the fateful day Ogochukwu d!ed, she reportedly asked her husband to buy bread for the family and he said he had no money.

She then used her money to buy bread for the family. Subsequently, Ndubuisi allegedly went into the kitchen and finished the whole bread.

When she confronted him for finishing the bread without keeping any for their children, he allegedly beat her up with his fists and a mirror.

She collapsed during the beating and d!ed a few hours later.

Following her de@th, the husband has remained free and is allegedly planning to bury her without informing her people properly.

"Ogochukwu Anene was the senior prefect of Amenyi Girls' Secondary School 2000 set. She was very intelligent." a source said while lamenting her de@th.

Her de@th has sparked outrage and many who knew her have taken to Facebook to demand justice for the deceased.

Suspect in murder of ex-CBN staff escapes from police custody, DPO removed

Lekan Adekanbi, the only suspect arrested in connection with the killing of a staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kehinde Fatinoye, has escaped from police custody in Ogun State.
After the killing of Fatinoye, his wife and their only son, the police said they had arrested Adekanbi as the prime suspect in the case.

Adekanbi was the driver of the late CBN staff until the day he was assassinated.

The Ibara police divisional headquarters had nabbed Adekanbi and held him in custody to aid their investigation.

On Tuesday, two policemen from Ibara division were said to have taken the suspect to a hospital after he complained of fever.

“At the hospital, Lekan was said to have pretended like he wanted to urinate and he escaped,” a source told our correspondent.

According to the source, the policemen did not handcuff the suspect, from the time he was arrested up until the time he was in the hospital.

According to sources, the suspect fled when he discovered that the domestic staff of the Fatinoyes, who was taken away by the assassins alongside their son, did not die.

He had become restless the moment he set his eyes on the domestic staff, it was learnt.
