Prophet Dr. Oluwadamilare Akano OBA Authority was not born with silver spoon. He was born into a poor family at Asalu Compound, Libery Area, Ikoyi Osun, where survival itself was a daily struggle.
As a young boy, life taught him responsibility very early.
While many children depended fully on their parents, Oluwadamilare Akano fought for his own future with sweat, determination, and faith in God. He started by selling ice water under the hot sun on the roadside. From ice water, he moved to selling pure water and lemon drinks. He also worked as an “Alabaru,” carrying heavy loads for passengers and traders just to make little money.
Not stopping there, he also worked as a bus conductor, shouting destinations at motor parks, loading passengers, collecting transport fares, and running after moving buses from morning till night just to survive and raise money for his education.
Sometimes he carried loads bigger than his age. Sometimes hunger became his closest friend. Sometimes rejection and hardship almost broke him.
But inside that struggling boy was a dream nobody could see.
Every sachet of water he sold… Every load he carried… Every bus he followed as a conductor… Every insult and suffering he endured… Was preparing him for a greater future.
He used the little money he struggled to gather by himself to start and continue his primary education. Through perseverance and faith, he later pushed himself into the university. The journey was hard, but he refused to surrender to poverty.
People saw a poor boy from Asalu Compound. God saw a future voice to the nation.
Years later, destiny changed the story.
That same young boy who once struggled in motor parks and on the express road became the CEO of Authority FM — the first radio broadcasting station making history across Isokan Local Government and Irewole Local Government.
Today, his voice reaches homes and communities. His station informs, educates, and inspires thousands. His story gives hope to young people who think their background can stop them.
Hon. Prophet Dr. Oluwadamilare Akano OBA Authority became a symbol of resilience, grace, hard work, and destiny fulfillment.
His life now speaks loudly: Never mock humble beginnings. Never laugh at a struggling child. Because today’s bus conductor can become tomorrow’s CEO.
From selling water on the roadside… To working as a bus conductor… To becoming the voice behind a community radio station…
This is more than success. This is a testimony of grace and determination.
As May 12 approaches, the people of Ikoyi Osun and beyond celebrate not just a birthday, but a story of struggle turned into greatness.
Happy Birthday to a fighter. Happy Birthday to a destiny carrier. Happy Birthday to Prophet Dr. Oluwadamilare Akano OBA Authority.
