Back in those days, many people looked down on actors in Nigeria. If you told your parents that you wanted to act, they might tell you to keep quiet and face a real job, because they wanted you to be a doctor, a pilot, or some big professional person.

Arts did not attract respect, and acting was seen as something for people who did not want to study serious subjects. Some even felt actors were at the bottom of society, and that mindset made the journey very hard for us who loved the craft deeply and truly.

But even with that pressure and those hard looks, some of us still went ahead. We followed the call in our hearts, we entered the set, and we kept working, even when nobody believed that this path could ever bring honour.
