What should have been a joyful birthday evening for a young lady in Kano turned into a nightmare after she was allegedly attacked with boiling water by another woman who found her with her boyfriend.
The shocking incident reportedly happened on November 10, 2025, and has since sparked conversations about jealousy, anger, and the painful consequences of uncontrolled emotions in relationships.
According to the victim, that day was supposed to be special because it was her birthday. After work, she planned to stop by the market to buy things for her birthday celebration. A male colleague, who was also a friend, offered to accompany her. But first, he needed to drop his belongings at his nearby house before they both headed to the market.
Everything seemed normal at first. They arrived at his house and were chatting about what to buy for the party when his girlfriend, identified as Aryann, called to say she was on her way. The young man reportedly tried to dissuade her from coming, telling her he would soon be heading out. But moments later, Aryann showed up anyway.
The victim say Aryann appeared calm when she entered. She greeted both of them, sat for a while, and then stood up, saying she wanted to take a bath. She went into the kitchen, and not long after, returned holding a pot of boiling water.
Before anyone could react, she poured the hot water directly on the visitor’s face and chest, leaving her screaming in pain. The shocking part? Aryann allegedly seized the victim’s phone immediately after, preventing her from calling anyone for help.
The guy eventually rushed in after hearing the cries and helped take the injured lady to the hospital, where she was treated for severe burns.
It reportedly took until the early hours of November 12 for the police to arrest Aryann and her boyfriend. The case is now being investigated at the Bompai Police Headquarters in Kano.
