BeachHouse African Short Film Festival

28/09/2026

A film can travel further than its filmmaker ever imagined.

For years, Beach House Short Film Festival has been a meeting place for filmmakers and stories from across the world , creating a space where different cultures, voices, and perspectives can come together through cinema. 🌍🎬

This November, something is changing.

For the first time, Beach House is crossing the water.

From Africa to Cambridgeshire, UK. 🇬🇧🌍

Not simply to screen films.

But to take stories into a new community.
To introduce filmmakers to new audiences.
To bring different cultures and perspectives into the same room.

And to give the stories submitted to Beach House another journey beyond the screen.

We are building quietly.
Carefully.
With intention.

The conversations are happening.
The foundations are being laid.
And the next chapter is almost ready to be opened.

Beach House Short Film Festival — Cambridgeshire, November 2026.

This is more than a new location.

It is a bridge between filmmakers, cultures and communities.

Following our official press release coming up in October, formal invitation letters and full event information will be issued to selected filmmakers and participants as we move towards the November festival.

So, for everyone who has trusted Beach House with their work , stay with us.

Your film may have started its journey somewhere in the world.

Now, it may be travelling somewhere new.

And we are only just beginning. 🎬🌍

No big studio. Just vision, teamwork, and the decision to create anyway.

We’re turning a simple classroom into a full film set , transforming desks into production stations, students into directors, writers, cinematographers, and storytellers.

The Mobile Filmmaking Workshop is more than training; it’s empowerment in action. From secondary school students to emerging young creatives, we’re proving that cinema can begin right where we are.

Yes, the challenges are real , limited equipment, tight budgets, and the constant need to prove that mobile filmmaking is powerful. But those challenges are shaping us. They’re teaching us resilience, innovation, and collaboration.

We’re not waiting for perfect conditions.
We’re building a film culture from the ground up , one classroom, one story, one powerful frame at a time. 🎬✨

What will students actually learn on this tour?

Not just how to watch films.
But how to understand them.

How to break down a scene.
How to structure a powerful story.
How cinematography influences emotion.
How creativity can become a career.

This is not a movie screening.
This is structured film education.

From classroom to confidence.
From curiosity to clarity.

Most Nigerian students never get access to real, hands-on filmmaking experience.

Not because they lack talent.
Not because they lack passion.
But because they lack access.

We’re taking cameras, sound, storytelling and real industry knowledge directly into schools across:

Lagos.
Ibadan.
Benin.
Enugu.
Abuja.
Kano.

This is bigger than a workshop.
It’s exposure.
It’s confidence.
It’s possibility.

Beach House Mobile Film Workshop is about opening doors early , so the next generation of filmmakers don’t have to wait for permission to dream.

We’re not just teaching film.
We’re building futures.
