I have applied to over 100 jobs, but nobody is calling me.

If this sounds like you, your resume might not be the problem...

The real problem could be the words on your resume.

Imagine going to a library to look for a book. If the book is in the wrong section or has the wrong label, you may never find it even if it's the best book there.

That's exactly how employers find resumes.

Before a human sees your resume, a computer (called an ATS) scans it for keywords. If your resume doesn't have the right keywords, it may never reach the hiring manager.

The sad part?

Many Virtual Medical Assistants have amazing skills, but their resumes don't show it.

Instead of writing things like:
❌ Hardworking
❌ Team player
❌ Good communication skills

Use keywords that employers are actually searching for.

Here are a few every VMA should be using:

Virtual Medical Assistant ,HIPAA Compliance ,Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR) ,Patient Scheduling ,Appointment Coordination
Medical Documentation ,Insurance Verification ,Patient Intake
Medical Records Management ,Care Coordination ,Telehealth Support ,Patient Communication ,Medical Terminology
Prior Authorization ,Referral Management ,CRM Software
Calendar Management ,Email Management ,Data Entry ,Customer Support

And don't stop there.

If you've used tools like Epic, Athenahealth, DrChrono, eClinicalWorks, AdvancedMD, TherapyNotes, Cliniko, Axxess, WellSky, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Slack, Zoom, or RingCentral, make sure they are on your resume too.

Remember this:

Your resume is not just telling people what you can do.
It's helping computers find you first.

A few small keyword changes can be the difference between hearing nothing... and getting invited for an interview.

Have you checked your resume lately?

Don't forget to save this post so you can update your resume later. You'll thank yourself when the interview invitations start coming in.

NB: Registration for cohort 6 is currently ongoing

Don't wait until all the slots are filled.

The best investment you can make is one that changes your earning potential, expands your opportunities, and prepares you for the future of healthcare.

Telehealth didn't replace healthcare workers. It created new opportunities for them.

Healthcare is still about people caring for people. The difference is that technology has changed where and how that care is delivered.

- Today, patients book appointments online.

- Providers consult patients virtually.

- Hospitals employ remote clinical coordinators.

- Home care agencies hire virtual patient support teams.

- Healthcare startups are building digital-first services.

Behind every successful telehealth consultation is a team of healthcare professionals making sure patients receive safe, timely, and coordinated care.

The future doesn't belong to those who fear change.

It belongs to those who prepare for it.

That's why at BTSA, we don't just teach you how to use digital tools. We teach you how to leverage your existing clinical or administrative experience in today's digital healthcare ecosystem.

Whether you're a nurse, doctor, pharmacist, physiotherapist, medical laboratory scientist, health information manager, community health worker, or any allied healthcare professional, your experience is still valuable.

You simply need to learn how to apply it in a healthcare system that is becoming increasingly digital.

Are these really students?

That was the question running through our mind throughout our final Capstone Project presentations over the weekend.

For a moment, we forgot we're watching students who had only spent 8 weeks in training. What we saw looked like a real healthcare team managing a real patient journey from start to finish.

From the Patient Intake Assistant and Scheduler coordinating the patient's appointment, to the student acting as the patient (honestly, she played the role so well that after the presentation, we asked if she was actually sick 😄), to the Provider conducting a telehealth consultation professionally, to the Medical Coder and Biller ensuring accurate documentation and reimbursement, and finally the Virtual Patient Support Specialist using HubSpot to resolve patient complaints and support tickets seamlessly.

Every group did exceptionally well.

But what stood out most wasn't just the presentations. It was seeing healthcare and para healthcare professionals from different backgrounds, different locations, and different time zones come together after 8 weeks of learning and transform into confident professionals capable of supporting modern healthcare organizations.

Saturday reminded us why practical training matters.

At BTSA, we don't just teach concepts. We create experiences that help our students understand what happens in real clinics, hospitals, telehealth companies, and home care agencies.

We prepare them to think, communicate, solve problems, and support patients in today's healthcare environment.

To every Cohort 4 student, congratulations.

Thank you for showing up consistently despite work schedules, family commitments, night shifts, and time zone differences. We are incredibly proud of what you have accomplished.

We pray that God's grace and favor go before you as you step into new opportunities in the remote and onsite healthcare space.

And for healthcare organizations, solo providers, clinics, hospitals, startups, and home care agencies looking for trained healthcare support professionals, we have talented individuals who are ready to contribute from day one.

📩 Send us a DM or visit our website if you're looking to hire skilled Virtual Medical Assistants, Patient Care Coordinators, Telehealth Support Specialists, Medical Scribes, Patient Intake Specialists, Schedulers, or Healthcare Administrative Support Professionals.

The future of healthcare is here, and we are proud to be preparing the professionals who will help shape it.

Happy New Week from all of us at BTSA.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL COHORT 4 MEMBERS

ANOTHER JOB OFFER

"Tell the students the stimulations / Assignments are very important..."

That's from one of our students who recently secured a Telehealth Operations role.

Many students see assignments and simulations as just another task to complete. But the truth is, those exercises are designed to prepare you for real-world healthcare workflows. They help you understand what happens behind the scenes in clinics, hospitals, telehealth companies, and home care agencies.

And today, one of our trainees is proof that the process works.

At BTSA, we are not focused on theory alone. We believe in practical learning because healthcare clients don't just want certificates they want professionals who understand how patient care works from start to finish.

Our goal is simple,to help you gain the confidence, exposure, and practical experience needed to stand out when opportunities come.

If you're interested in becoming a Healthcare Virtual Assistant, Telehealth Support Specialist, or leveraging your clinical and administrative skills remotely, this is your opportunity to learn what healthcare clients are actually looking for.
