What began as one painting quickly became thousands of stories.
People opened up about growing up with harsh discipline, verbal insults, fear, and moments that stayed with them long into adulthood. Others shared how their parents did the best they could with what they knew, even if that sometimes caused harm.
Parenting is deeply personal, and conversations like these rarely have simple answers. But listening to people’s experiences can help us understand where many of today’s conversations about discipline, healing, and breaking cycles come from.

- The Federal Government has approved a new N50,000 registration fee for WAEC and NECO examinations, set to take effect from 2027.
On paper, it may sound like just another policy update.
But for many Nigerian families, it raises a bigger question about affordability.

If the national minimum wage is N70,000, a parent earning that amount could spend nearly an entire month’s salary just registering one child for these examinations—before factoring in transport, school fees, uniforms, textbooks, feeding, rent, and other household expenses.
Now imagine a family with two or three children approaching their senior secondary exams.

This isn’t just about the cost of an exam.
It’s about what happens when the cost of accessing education rises faster than many people’s ability to pay.

Do you think the average Nigerian salary earner can realistically afford this? If not, what needs to change?

After a woman shared that she ended a talking stage because both the man’s mother and older sister had died from breast cancer, opinions quickly became divided.

Some people said she was simply thinking ahead. Others argued that it was unfair to judge someone based on a health risk they didn’t choose.
Then another comment compared it to a man refusing to marry a woman because she has PCOS, and the debate only got louder.

It raises an interesting question about dating, compatibility, and how much health and family history should influence our decisions.
We also included some of the other reasons people shared for ending a talking stage, and let’s just say... people have their reasons. 😅

So let’s discuss respectfully: Is family medical history a valid reason to end a relationship before it begins? Where would you personally draw the line?

Three Nigerian students went to Rome for the International STEM Olympiad.

They came back with three Gold Medals. 🥇🥇🥇

Behind that achievement is Alex Onyia, whose education initiative is creating opportunities for talented young people from South-East Nigeria to compete on the global stage.

It’s a reminder that talent has never been Nigeria’s biggest problem.

Opportunity has.

When young people are given access, mentorship, and the chance to test themselves against the best in the world, they often prove they belong there.
