In these trying times in our country let us go out of our way to encourage or show a little kindness to our neighbors I walked into an aboki’s shop one morning to get something and a young boy I think in primary school walked into the shop and said he wanted to buy bread The aboki told him to pick the size of bread he wanted The boy picked it and handed him two hundred and fifty naira aboki replied and said is four hundred naira as the lad was dropping the bread to collect his money back reluctantly, it was as if he read the boy’s countenance He told him to go with the bread I was really touched by the aboki’s kind gesture The boy took the bread happily and was going to school That little kindness the aboki showed the boy endeared me to his shop that anytime I pass through the route I ensure I buy something from him
Let’s try and lend a helping hand to someone out there It will not cost you much It could be in form of a new school bag or replacing a child’s old uniforms That little kindness will not go unnoticed
