Meet Chief Salis Owolabi, The first Nigerian to travel to Space.

The first Nigerian to travel to space is Owolabi Salis, a Nigerian-born, U.S.-based lawyer, political figure, author, and spiritual leader. He made history on June 29, 2025, as one of six crew members aboard Blue Origin’s NS‑33 suborbital mission, launching from West Texas and crossing the Kármán line (approximately 100 km above sea level) into space.

The flight reached around 105.2 km in altitude and lasted about 10 minutes—which included moments of weightlessness and stunning views of Earth from space.

Before taking off, Salis described his journey as “more than just a trip into space—it’s a spiritual journey, a call to inspire future generations”.
