I got this question from one of my followers: Is black seed the same as black pepper?
The answer is No. Black seed and black pepper are completely different. Please do not substitute black pepper for black seed when making hair growth oils.
Here are the key differences 👇
Black Seed (Nigella Seed/Kalonji/Black Cumin)
• Small, flat black seeds.
• Has a slightly bitter, nutty flavor.
• Widely used in hair oils, herbal remedies, and cooking.
• Popular for its nourishing properties in hair and scalp care.
Black Pepper
• Comes from dried peppercorns.
• Round, hard, and wrinkled in appearance.
• Has a strong spicy and pungent taste.
• Mainly used as a seasoning in food.
If a hair growth recipe specifically calls for black seed, do not replace it with black pepper. They have different properties and serve different purposes.
