Anybody Who Makes a Ministry Out of Commenting on Other People’s Ministries Has Lost His Assignment — Rev. Deji Olabode

Rev. Deji Olabode has cautioned Christian ministers against building their platforms around constantly criticising or responding to the teachings and ministries of other pastors.

Speaking during a message, Olabode expressed concern about the amount of Christian content online centred on one minister attacking or responding to another, rather than providing substantive teachings that can help believers grow.

“Anybody who makes a ministry out of commenting on other people’s ministry has lost his assignment,” he said.

Olabode advised Christians not to become consumed by online content presented around ministers “blasting” one another, arguing that believers need the substance of God’s Word more than constant controversies and commentaries.

He recalled a recent conversation with his pastor, who questioned how a minister could have enough time to continually comment on other people’s messages when there was still significant work to be done among members of his own congregation.

According to Olabode, pastors who sincerely examine the spiritual growth and lives of the people entrusted to them will recognise that there is still much work requiring their attention.

He also warned that constant commentary creates the possibility of wrongly criticising something that may actually be good, urging ministers instead to remain focused on their own assignments and the people they have been called to serve.

Satan Can Perform Signs and Wonders, but the Intention Is to Deceive — Pastor David Adewale

Pastor David Adewale has cautioned Christians against using signs and wonders alone as the standard for determining whether a spiritual message or minister is genuinely from God.

Speaking during a teaching, Adewale discussed what he described as “lying wonders,” arguing that supernatural manifestations can be used as a means of deception rather than as proof that someone represents Christ.

According to him, the occurrence of what appears to be a miracle should not automatically cause Christians to accept everything associated with the person performing it.

He argued that believers should examine spiritual manifestations and teachings in the light of God’s truth, particularly when the person involved is not genuinely pointing people toward Jesus.

Adewale also warned against attempts to combine Christian faith with spiritual practices he considers contrary to biblical teaching. He maintained that believers must be able to recognise deception even when it appears convincing or spiritually impressive.

Drawing on biblical passages about choosing between competing loyalties and being neither hot nor cold, Adewale urged Christians to take a clear stand in their faith rather than remain divided between opposing spiritual beliefs.

His message emphasised discernment, encouraging believers to judge spiritual claims by truth and biblical teaching rather than by signs and wonders alone.

You Can Call Yourself an Entrepreneur and Still Be Unable to Pay Rent or School Fees — Pastor Olumide Emmanuel

Pastor Olumide Bakare has challenged the idea that entrepreneurship necessarily means starting and owning an entire business, encouraging people to consider the value of partnerships, investments and owning stakes in successful companies.

Speaking during a teaching on entrepreneurship and wealth creation, Bakare argued that owning a smaller percentage of something valuable can sometimes be more beneficial than having complete ownership of a business with little value.

“It is better to own 10% of a billion than to own 100% of a thousand,” he said.

He pointed to companies such as Flutterwave, Paystack and Zoom while explaining his position, suggesting that people who acquired even relatively small stakes in successful companies could benefit significantly as those businesses grew.

Bakare also noted that some of the world’s most prominent business figures do not own 100% of the companies associated with their names. According to him, there are also lesser-known investors who own small percentages of major businesses and benefit financially without being publicly recognised.

He argued that entrepreneurship should therefore not be reduced to having a business card and calling oneself a founder, owner or managing director.

Bakare further cautioned against pursuing the title of entrepreneur while struggling to meet basic financial responsibilities. He suggested that, in some circumstances, earning a stable income and managing it wisely could be preferable to maintaining a business primarily for the status of being called an entrepreneur.

His message encouraged people to think beyond complete ownership and focus instead on creating and participating in ventures that produce genuine economic value.

The Problem in the World Today Is Lack of Integrity — Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Pastor David Ibiyeomie has encouraged Christians, particularly young people, to build a reputation for integrity, arguing that trustworthiness can open doors to greater opportunities and responsibilities.

Speaking during a sermon, the Salvation Ministries founder illustrated his message with the example of being entrusted with money to make a purchase. He said that if someone gives a person ₦45,000 and the item costs ₦43,000, the remaining ₦2,000 should be returned rather than quietly kept.

According to Ibiyeomie, wealthy people should not be assumed to have forgotten about small amounts of money simply because they do not immediately ask for their change. Instead, he suggested that such situations can reveal a person’s character and determine whether they can be trusted with greater resources.

“If they can trust you, you have a future,” he said, explaining that someone who proves trustworthy with a small amount could eventually be entrusted with much more.

Ibiyeomie also addressed integrity within the church, criticising situations where people allegedly avoid accountability after being entrusted with money or resources.

He argued that academic qualifications alone are not enough to distinguish young people in today’s society, noting that many people already possess excellent certificates and first-class degrees.

According to him, integrity can become a defining quality that makes employers and others actively seek out trustworthy people.

He urged members of his congregation to turn away from dishonest practices and build such a strong reputation for integrity that association with their church would inspire confidence in potential employers and others who deal with them.
