Your parents will never tell you this, but read it…
They won’t say it out loud because they don’t want to pressure you.
They don’t want you to feel guilty.
They don’t want you to think they failed you.
But the truth is quietly sitting in their heart:
They are getting older.
And they are silently hoping you rise quickly.
Your parents may never tell you:
1. They are tired.
Not the kind of tired sleep can fix.
The kind of tired that comes from years of carrying the family on their back with little support.
2. They wish life gave them the opportunities you have now.
When they see you holding a smartphone, learning online, connecting globally, they smile…
but deep down they whisper, “If only we had this in our time.”
3. They don’t want you to repeat their struggles.
Every sacrifice they made was so you wouldn’t start life from where they started.
But destiny becomes painful when the child ignores the ladder the parent provided.
4. They get scared sometimes.
Scared that you’re growing older but not getting stable.
Scared that their strength is running out.
Scared that one day they may need you… and you may not be ready.
5. They want you to succeed, not because of money, but because they want peace before they leave this world.
Nothing comforts aging parents like knowing their child has direction.
6. They will never tell you they cried for you.
When you failed.
When you were confused.
When you were stubborn.
When life slapped you.
They prayed for you in silence.
7. They are depending on your growth more than you realize.
A rising child is the retirement plan of many African parents; emotionally, spiritually, and sometimes financially.
Dear reader,
Your parents won’t say these things, but life will reveal them with time.
Use your youth wisely.
Build aggressively.
Stay focused.
Don’t let their sacrifices be wasted.
Give them the joy they never had.
If this message touched you, comment “I WILL RISE FOR THEM.”
