Let me talk about the reasoning behind one of these reality songs in my archive.

Yunno, there was this period from way back. My brother had come visiting with his then "wife to be"; I was still in my teenage years living with our parents.

_somewhere in the middle of their conversation, my brother told the lady that "Sola (that's me) is just like your _____ (I think he said Kenny or so)"...

Well, I didn't know this person he was talking about; but I never thought the person would be a bad example. So, I sat there smiling...

Hmmm... A few months to their wedding, I had an opportunity to meet this person my brother had likened me to only to realize that, even though I wasn't one of the best behaved guys from my area, I was nothing like this dude.

Yes, maybe I wasn't as cool as the rest of my siblings in my teenage years, but that doesn't mean I was a bad child. Maybe a spoiled brat, yeah. After all, I am the last born! But nope! I wasn't a bad child.

And unlike the rest of them, I grew up in a hood where w**d was sold freely as if it was pure water; a setting where lying was a normal thing even among the elders. A setting where people had no principles or values guiding their lives, a setting where anything can happen. A setting where many parents were actually using me as a good example to their kids.

But my brother wouldn't know this because he never lived there and he actually was like a stranger; we never really lived together like that.

Now, imagine a stranger trying to tell another stranger about you. Who knows? Maybe he didn't even know this other guy too deeply enough to know how bahd he really was.

That evening, I wrote the song "Are you really my brotha?"

Dear Unsigned Artist,

Why aren’t most unsigned artists making it? A lot of people think it’s just about money. But that’s not the full story.

The truth is, most artists aren’t up there because they’re missing the real knowledge they need—and they don’t even realize it. One of the biggest things every artist needs to learn is this: how to package and sell yourself.

If you’re low on funds, you’ve got to be high on strategy. The goal? Sell yourself to the people who have the resources to take you higher.

Imagine landing a production deal without spending a dime. It’s possible—but only if you work on your craft and become the kind of artist no producer wants to pass on.

Or think about connecting with potential investors. They’re looking for artists who know their value and have a clear vision. Become that kind of artist and go all out to show them how supporting you can only be a win-win.

From the bottom up, it’s all about leverage. You don’t need every resource in your pocket; you just need to understand how to make yourself valuable to others.

You’ve got the talent—now master the tools to make it go far.

There is so much to say about this; it will take a book or two to really be able to say enough (perhaps I will take some time to write them someday soon).

With love, light and smiles,
Jazzade
